Choose the "buffet" world setting in the place where you chose if your world is superflat, amplified, etc. It should say "customize." Click on that, and it should bring up a bunch of custom world things. One should say sky islands. Chose that.

In 1.15 if you make a new world and click more world options a menu will pop up click the button that says world type default untill it says world type buffet once you have done that another button should pop up underneath the world type button that says customize, click that and then you will be taken to another menu with a list of the biomes and a button near the top that says world generator :surface. click that button untill it says world generator: floating islands. After you’ve done that chose which biome you want the islands to be (he chose flower forest) and then your done!

Just load up a Flower Forest Floating Islands buffet mode world for this. You can do some NBT tweaking to enable all biomes though.

Piece of advice from an floating island player. DUNGEONS ARE YOU'RE BEST FRIENDS. Mob farms are very useful and farming is an absolute necessity. I played in a jungle biome and got all the way to the end (to get to nether use lava buckets for obsidian. Edit watched more of the video and you have a dungeon and a lava pool. I'm jealous. No natural diamonds exist, but you can get them from the end portal dungeon and nether fortresses as well as end cities. Sugarcane is rare af (at least in jungle biomes). If you find any KEEP IT AND MAKE A FARM.

4:33 Calvin the reason it is so bright is a glitch. When you use fullbright in another version it does this and the way to fix it is to go into settings and move the light slider down then back up and it will be fixed. I have done this quite a few times in my Hardcore world and it works for me

Just so u know, u can find sand to get glass to get glass bottles, then u can make a campfire, put under a beehive, and collect honey which can give u as many hunger points as a golden carrot.
