So... im filling a 25 radius octagon glass dome with water.... and im gonna try placing iceblocks in a diagonal line from bottom to top and see if it fills it with source blocks :) Ty soo much for the diagonal concept. It will save me soooo much ice farming lol

Of course the best way of filling a multi-layer water area is to fill it all the way from top to bottom with ice and destroy the ice from top to bottom. That way each block of ice creates a source block and there won't be any streams / non-source-water blocks.
