Hello! I hope you enjoy my emo, post-rock, ambient, prog, whatever-the-hell cover of "Warmth" from Minecraft!

So, Minecraft has some of my favorite music ever, but I've always been more familiar with the original overworld tracks (subwoofer lullaby, sweden, ya know). I didn't get into the nether songs until about a year ago.
I remember there was this one time where I heard "Warmth" play in-game and it just clicked. Like, all the songs usually give me goosebumps, but it just really HIT that time. That night I started arranging the song and came up with everything through the blast beat, post-rock, black metal thingy.
A few weeks later I laid down the weird vocal tracks with lyrics I came up with on the spot. Then the project just sat there for a while. That was back in March/April. But it was all mostly done at that point, I just needed to shoot video. Guess what tho? I just got new lights so oh shit, looks like I finally recorded it!
But yeah, this cover is kinda old and so are the performances and the mix, so I apologize if anything kinda sucks. And I also apologize for the extremely edgy, emo lyrics. I kinda wanted to d i e when I originally made the cover and stuff. I'm good now tho. :)

This was awesome to listen to, props! I think what makes your music special is just the nature of how it sits between so many genres, but sounds beautiful. There's experimental stuff out there which doesn't quite grasp an enjoyable tone as your music does. Thanks for this awesome piece!

Just saw the part about video stuff. Camera: Canon M50 (15-45mm kit lens and Sigma 30mm, I mainly use the 30mm) Lights: A two-pack of Neewer Bi-color NL660s.... and some translucent colored binder dividers I got from the dollar store lmao. Editor: Final Cut Pro X Hope that answers your question! I really love the M50 with the Sigma 30mm, but it's a pretty pricey setup. I got the lights for like $130 (USD) and I'm liking them so far, I just haven't used them enough to say whether they're worth it.

Thanks dude, I really appreciate it! For the vocals: since I don't sing loud, I recorded right up on the mic. So I had to cut a lot of the proximity effect out. Then I put a lot of high end in with EQ and exciters. The vocoder is a different thing tho. I just chose one of Logic vocoder presets, tweaked it, and put some verb on it. I also recorded like 15 different tracks, so that's why it sounds so massive at times.
