The legendary curry was in the chest next to the stove because when they saw the command blocks a chest was there which means the command blocks cloned that chest to the chest that was next to the stove, but if that is not the reason why would they put a chest there next to command blocks with the legendary curry in it without cloning that block to to the position of the chest near the stove.
