you an either dig a whole block hole, or, place stairs and fill the small stairstep with wateyou can either dig a whole block and put water, or just put a ladder of spruce and fill the step with water, so it will not disturb anyone who is walking in the trench and still gives a pretty cool detail

0:40 i most mostly use oak for duck boards and slabs for parapets the stick wall design used on early german trenches i make out of ladders. chests are the parapet boxes. slabs can also replace the sand bags used in general trenches. sand bags i the back protect against artillery shock waves. i put dugouts at corners. usually stopping 10 meters down (descent entaunt but crap central powers trench) i used the design along with incorporation of anti-tank pits for an actual WW1 non-historic RP Server. was able to hold off 60 player mechanized assault with only 10 people. built 10 block deep anti-tank pits with infantry trenches lining the rim. rat holes at the bottom lead to main base. so i put elements of vietcong tactics into it was the worse shot but best tactician. i also dug a tunnel to the north sea for the navy since the ports were all taken up. i'd make my own gardens in my personal rat tunnels to store food formyself and whatever dirt and ore i came across Call to battle 2 mod adds sand bags and bunker lanterns for 1.7.10. alot of WW1 guns make it too and before anyone asks, yes the Austro-Hungarians turned on Germany, and the first time i saw my anti-tank pits in action they brought a tsar tank from the Russians and got it stuck. served the tank commander right for throwing a grenade at me while i was on the surface storing dirt. let them have it with the riggotti rifle i was issued with. i forced them to retreat. everyone else was in the base hunkering down. i wasn't told a thing about the raid. my team was an ass to me to say the least if it got the tsar tank stuck then no renaunt or landship was going through. if a tank came it, kill the operators take the tank and store it in the rat tunnels once the battle was over. adaptive engineering. last i played the team ran out of ammo and i wasn't resupplied since i finished digging the trench. salvage was nice though. some reason greece had an atlantic wall full of guns. berlin was just taken back from the austrians.
