Star Conflict: A Beginner's Guide

Additional tips not mentioned in the video! I can't believe I have to say this, but I can't tell you how many times I see people doing this, even in the higher ranks. DON'T LET YOUR WEAPONS OVERHEAT! Just stop shooting for a second when they start to get hot. When your weapons overheat, it forces you to stop firing for longer than it would take if you just stopped firing manually. Getting a ship to max level, or buying a premium ship (Since they start at max level) will increase your "Fleet Strength". The higher your Fleet Strength, the more likely it is that you will get two containers for the price of one when buying a container. This can even happen with free containers, such as the "Rainy-Day Fund" container, which you get for completing daily tasks. This is one of the reasons it's worth trying to max out all of your lower level ships, in addition to increasing your Clearance Level, since they require less experience to level up, and cost less to purchase. Something pretty important which I didn't mention about Destroyers is that they also take 2.5x as much damage from ships closer than 1000 Meters. When you're playing as a Destroyer, and a ship comes within "melee range", this is indicated by a red icon. Apparently, this damage bonus even applies to module destruction, so even if for example, a module's description says it deals "2,750" damage on destruction, it will actually deal 6,875 damage on destruction, as it will receive this melee damage multiplier. You can keep your firing accuracy up by not just holding down the fire button, but with certain weapons, such as the Assault Railgun and Coilgun, if you can get a perfect rhythm going, you can retain the same accuracy level without slowing down your fire rate. Try it out, to see what you can do. From what I can tell, having a high cooling rate is what helps with this. By default, a ship's shields are weak to EM damage, and the hull is weak to Kinetic damage, which is represented by the resistance values. Since this default weakness is based on resistance, increasing your resistance can completely remove this weakness. As such, even though the game tells you "EM damage is effective against shields, and Kinetic damage is effective against hulls" this may not actually be the case, depending on how your opponent has allocated their resistance. It's always a good idea to use missiles with a different damage type from your main weapon, and you could save missiles for when you come across someone who seems particularly resistant to your main weapon. This one is pretty obscure, but since most people probably don't know this, I thought it was worth mentioning. Most Destroyer pilots will use Static Shields, but if you come across a Destroyer using Heavy Repair Drones, they can actually heal team mates, just with very short range (300m), so if you get real close to a Destroyer's Repair Drone, it can heal you, too. (And don't underestimate the Repair Drones, they're especially useful for Empire Destroyers.)

Is "open space" instanced? or is it a single server that everyone is flying around in together?

There are multiple servers for each region. The server you go to will be determined by your preference selected in the settings. If you join a party with somebody whose preference is a different region, and you go into Open Space together, you will end up in their selected region.

hey man a quick question, how to do high level missions? i usually get totally wrecked even with a destroyer in some missions :S

You have to increase your "Mission Level" using Insignias, which I mentioned at 1:24. Seed Chips also will power you up a ton for missions, and are the much faster way to be able to take on higher level missions, however, there's sort of a limit to how far seed chips can take you. Having a rank 15-17 ship with a nice set of Seed Chips will only get you to around level 30 for most missions, and from there you'll have to increase your Mission Level. Getting a higher Mission Level is a real grind though, and personally, I prefer to just play Skirmishes and PvP for the most part.

Just for mining part, level of extraction (poor-great) depends on how long durring the mining u keep asteroid in red zone, not at time of destruction, other than that great guide (never tought about selling monos)

@@HouraisanKaguya personal mining expirience :P tried both way but if u keep it heated longer time u got way better chance for great extraction, few times cuz of lag heat dropped to 20% or like that when i destroyed it but it was still great extraction as i kept it at around ~80% entire time

Yes. The resources you obtain are not linked to a given ship, except experience. If you complete an Open Space mission for experience, it will only apply to the ship you used.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. If you're asking which ships are the best? I really can't tell you. It just comes down to which ships you enjoy using the most. For the most part, the game is fairly balanced. In Tier 5 (Referring to ships between Rank 13 and 17), there are ships which are clearly overpowered. Namely ships such as the Ze'Ta, Thar'Ga, Tai'Kin, Tornado, and Wolfhound among other things. These ships were either banned or limited in the most recent tournament.

Oh, sorry, I see now. At Clearance Level 7, you unlock the ability to manufacture Ellydium and Unique ships. Well, as I mentioned in my last reply, yes, those ships are quite powerful, but they take a lot of investing to get there. Unique ships are pretty much DLC only for the most part, but Ellydium ships can be manufactured with special parts and large quantities of Xenocrystals. If you feel like going for it, they're a lot of fun to use, just know that you'll have to spend a lot of resources on them.

Same publisher, so probably about the same, although I wouldn't know, I haven't played War Thunder. If you just want to unlock all of the different ship classes and regular modules, that can be done pretty quickly, and will give you a ton of gameplay variety. It's really just the Destroyers and the high rank unique ships that take a lot of grinding to get, which I don't mind so much since I really only use those ships for PvE stuff. Unfortunately, the high rank PvP is very unbalanced and chaotic. Again though, it doesn't matter to me all that much because I play mostly with Rank 7-11 ships and have a great time. But y'know, doesn't change the fact that it's not particularly good design.

Well, that's because most of this video is about resource management rather than combat. It's talking more so about the MMO part of the game, which is the part most likely to confuse new people. I only mentioned spending real life money at the end of the video, pretty briefly. If you're still not into that, then that's cool, but you don't need to spend a lot of money on this game to enjoy it. Also, I'd like to add that the most used word in this video was probably "rank", and good on you for trying to avoid money hole games.

I've probably placed about 1000 hours into this game, I have a massive fleet, multiple destroyers, tons of resources, tens of millions of credits, and I've never put a dime into this. You can have lots of fun with just a low rank ships and never mess with anything else and just collect credits and stay in the first tier PvP and PvE content. Its really the same as a high level ship, the gameplay doesn't change, just the numbers on the screen.
