I just got the Equinox update for the 600 and it's even harder for me to understand but also I have only used it for about an hour and then I'm still so use to the 99 scale of numbers and the X-Terra Pro and it is nice to see the 800 again....

I have the same issue regarding the numbers when I don't use one of the detectors for a while... I wish they all worked the same as far as numbers. Practice and even try doing a finds test. I take some items including gold out and test it. It can be helpful but one thing I learned was gold is tricky... depending on many factors gold can ring in at so many different numbers and sounds.
