Minelab GPX 4500 is better than GPX 5000 in my opinion my tests prove the 4500 less noisy.

I had a 7000 for a couple of years, I thought it was extremely sensitive on even the smallest specks of gold. I met an extremely successful prospector that used a 4000, in comparisons the difference between his machine and mine was very marginal, definitely not big enough to make up for our difference in experience. I sold the 7000 as I thought the cost was obscene for what it is even though I enjoyed finding the occasional piece, I am now waiting for something to come out at a reasonable price. :)

You have to be Arnold Schwarzenegger to use a 7000 for more than 20 minutes. They weigh a ton.

my old 2009 4500 has always given me the yellow stuff cant complain ,as soon as i put the elite 14 on it the yellow jumped on to it.

To me it seems it might be the rotary encoder, I have spayed contact cleaner in and down the shaft of the control and sometimes this can fix the problem.

Hi Woody in ur opinion 4000mod 4500mod and 5000mod which detector would be your go to because im convinced now not to purchase the newest models but recons its more beneficial to get 1 of the 3 mentioned

The only real difference is Fine Gold mode, and the extra couple of volts on part of the SETA circuit.
