It largely depends on if the divorce was finalized at that point in time. The timeline of events arent super clear. Just because the papers were signed does not mean it was complete. So as a legal spouse, they would have a legal right to the disclosure of that information. Then could pass it on to the family. Not saying its right to do so. But legally speaking, there is very little that can be done.

If it is it's an older fake story because I've actually heard this before. They've changed some things but it's definitely something I heard before on different channels. And from what I remember I'm pretty sure she lives in Texas and they go hard to protect the police so likely even if she did sue the best they would get is a slap on the wrist even news outlets probably would somehow turn it on her making her seem like a bitch for her family " just being concerned about her."

I admit I'm shocked that the police gave her parents her contact details (yes it was only a email address but they can still harass her with it) before she had a change to talk to them, for all the police knew she was being abused and ran (which she was and did) they put her safety at risk to keep her abusers happy 🤬🤬🤬

Luckily, from what I understand about police immunity, that would not be considered under "damages during the duty of service". Meaning OP can get the news involved and pressure the cops into charging the offending officer with "aiding and abiding of a crime" while a lawyer would win the civil case.

I really do hope somebody goes through this while having rich secret grandma out there maintaining my evil grandma that hold my entire family from even speaking my through text while I lived at my car so I know exactly how to deal with this totally happen situation when police discloses information on me after saying I don’t want for that to happen. It devestates me when other parents have to go through this. My son spent 9 months in the hospital after he was born. 16 weeks being NICU. His first year of life involved several surgeries as well. He needs a liver transplant and will need a bone marrow transplant eventually as well. Hes almost 3, but too also needs oxygen monitor and oxygen every night at bed time!!
