Some of the band would drop by Moes in Sydney. once in a while. Bobby would often sit alone on a stool by the window eating his Captain Capers Fish & Chips, reading the paper. To this day I really believe that the "red" album is the greatest rock and roll record to ever come out of the Maritimes. And as much as I love Minglewoods music, I still miss Enver and his harp. He made them sound different and unique. They were a very tight band right from the go.

kelticcaper I just watched this with tears in my eyes, Enver was the special sauce in this band and I believe they would have been far more successful had he not died. He gave me a lifelong love of the harp and the blues.

That was always the vibe when they played the Moon. Everyone was driven wild by the performance. It was an amazing time.

They played at Dalhousie in their SUB in 1980 or 1981. It was very cold outside, and there was a coat check for attendees. About halfway through someone pulled the fire alarm! Obviously nobody wanted to go outside, but the fire department refused to enter the building until it was empty! After 20-30 minutes, Minglewood was back on stage doing a second set! Everyone ignored the fire department and went back into the auditorium for the second set! Definitely worth it!

was a kid in a little town in BC during 70's and 80's and the cool older kids down the block used to crank out the Minglewood Band during house shaker parties and we'd all sing along like they were the greatest band on earth! Movin' was the LP at the time and we all had to get our hands on a copy when our folks took us to Calgary or Vancouver. Great memories! Thanks so much!

OMG...I remember the old Moon in Hfx. Partied there many, many nights. At the new Misty Moon, too. Saw some good bands there. Long John Baldry back in the early 80's was awesome. Oh, the memories..... :)

I used to drink in The Shingle Inn tavern in Sydney. When 'Last Call' was announced, the bartender would pass the mike to Enver and he would close the place, blowing harp. One night Matt was playing at Fred's in The Pier and I mentioned to him that there was a good harp player in the house called Enver Sampson. Matt called Enver up and a couple of weeks later he was full time in The Minglewood Band. God Rest His Soul.....
