Having the screen on the bottom really gets obscured with the hands controlling the sticks. I noticed you barely showed that and so many other channels don't either when comparing the 2 controllers. It's so much better having the screen up top...DJI F'd this up design wise.

Different rc signal strenght is due to automatic chanel select setting on the controlers. If you don't manually select the same channel and frequency band on both controlers, you will always end up with an apple / pear comparison. Tipp: Chose 2,4 GHz in low populated areas gives you greater range than 5GHz, but 5GHz has more channels to choose from in highly populated areas with lots of wifi routers. Since you must fly VLOS in most countrys anyway, this should be not a real problem. Even with eagle eyesight, everbody who claimes to see a Mini 3 Pro at a distance greater than 1 km is a liar.

The RCN1 will allow you to use 3rd party apps via your phone for automated program flights, when they become available , like the DJI Mini and Mini 2 now have available, while the DJI-RC locks you in to DJI Fly apps which will be the only software you’ll be able to use, like it or not. Am I correct Jeremy ? If that is the case, then I would take the RCN1 because apps such as Dronelink, Maven and Litchi are absolute fantastic apps to use.

the bigest issue with cell phones is that they constantly report your flight history to the dji database. also u can be tracked by government as soon as u start flying because your cell is assigned to an IMEI number and they are visible to sertain entities. not with rc pro. so with rc pro u are off grid in a sense and more safe.

Get some gumboots next time you venture into Gippsland 😉 Hey can you do a vid to highlight how bad the recent change to maptiler sat maps are on the RC! Play back one of your flights on your RC by going to Profile > More > Flight Data Centre with satellite (not standard) maps to see what I mean. Same terrible maps are there in flight when u try use them. Need to spread the word so they fix it.

But on the first flight with the DJI-RC on Std Battery. We were nowhere near the plant but had the interference (we did rotate the map slightly to help the general audience follow what was happening) ....a friend of mine said it could be the RC swapping from broad frequency to narrower frequency... don't know if that makes sense. Great video. Really enjoyed you presentation style. You have thrown a spanner in the works, though! I was about to push the button on an RC-N1, and I'd have gone for it were it not for that pesky single shoulder control dial! Everything else I think I can live with, but not being able to control the gimbal and zoom in/out at the same time just seems a limitation too far for me. I'd also like to be able to zoom without taking my thumb off the left stick.

Man!I I can't decide what to do....The MINI 2 is such a good deal right now but the Mini 3 with DJI-RC seems like the logical way too go but is double the price!
@BenCapewell Жыл бұрын
@@DK-vh3gk I can't speak to the Mini 2/3 difference, but I can say that after owning my Mini 3 Pro with RC-N1 for just a few days, I'm already kind of wishing I'd stretched myself to get the RC! I reckon it would be worth £150 extra just to never have to set up the controller before a flight again! Also, I suspect the RC is quite a bit nicer in the hand - the N1 is the same weight but when you add a smartphone it is heavier and, more importantly, becomes less well-balanced in the hand, so your hands get a little bit more preoccupied with holding the controller level rather than concentrating on operating the controls smoothly. That said, it's not a bad experience by any means and I'm having a lot of fun - plus I bought a 3rd party tablet mount so I can also fly using my 10" iPad which looks incredible! On the subject of the lack of independent gimbal and zoom controls on the RC-N1: you can get round this using one of the automatic subject tracking modes so that the gimbal manipulation is taken care of for you while you manoeuvre the drone and control the zoom manually, and that will probably yield smoother results anyway, so I'm not too bothered about that any more. Also, I don't know where you are but the Mini 3 is hardly any more expensive than the Mini 2 from the DJI Store in both the US and UK right now, it's only the RC option that makes the Mini 3 more expensive. So if I were you I'd be choosing between Mini 3 with or without the RC controller, but I don't know what other deals you've seen.

@BenCapewell Жыл бұрын
@@DK-vh3gk Yeah it was the same in the UK, annoyingly, no promotion on the Pro. But I also wanted the Mastershots feature, higher max ISO and extra safety features so I'm less likely to crash it! I think the additional automonous flight modes in the Pro will be good for video quality as it'll move the drone & gimbal much smoother than you're likely to able to yourself. And it has more control/video range and lower latency. I'm sure you won't regret it! Just try to get the integrated RC if you can stretch to it!

Great video, thanks. 🐄 💩

People with FCC have been reporting to get a lot more range than CE. But there are also reports of poor range performance, and that could just be a fault Mini 3 unit by DJI. Looks like you flew towards a populated area causing RF interference? Causing lack of signal, maybe?

Rc-n1 fans should consider a LG g8 original or LG v50 as they each have fast processor, incredible screen resolution compared with today's 1080p standard phone displays, and brightness is never ever a issue. Specs available search one of them up if you want a great performing device for recreational flying controll screen. They're so awesome, very affordable now as these are a couple years old now, I love using either of mine everything is so crisp, clear and bright. Fly happy all.

Why would you want more than 1080p or basic streaming of the video feed which also happens to be in 1080p. You're better off matching that resolution so it runs native. What you want is a bright screen, long battery life, good heat dissipation characteristics, high system performance and high reliability. A higher resolution than 1080p will only take away from your battery life and system performance while providing zero benefit when watching 1080p content.

This is the video/info I have been waiting for. I am ready to buy the Air 2S, but was a bit on the fence about whether to get the traditional controller, or wait and hope that DJI will add Air 2S compatibility to the new RC controller. I think I will wait a bit longer.

Thanks. Glad we were able to help. We're all hoping that DJI will add that compatibility soon. 🤞

@@carlose6010 Thanks - actually the RC Pro has been compatible for awhile, but the RC compatibility is new. Hope to see it in a bundle soon!

Did you bought it? I’ve recently purchased it and I’m not really happy with it - no HDR - very loud - obstacle avoidance 4 on the front, nothing on side - bad low light video quality - problem with international traveling -overall looks much better on “paper” than real life

I have found with the Magic Air the battery life in cold weather does not accurately display correctly.

Which one CONNECTS to the drone faster? I hate waiting for my smart phone to Pair with the controller and then the controller to connect to the drone. Is it any different with the N1?

Can you not just setup a wifi hotspot with your phone and then connect the RC-N1 t it for full internet all hte time?
