Hello…I’m going to purchase my first drone. My two choices are either DJI mini 3 or mini 3 Pro (which will be for my 8 year old son for Christmas). I wasn’t sure which features I really wanted our drone to have. This video definitely helped me figure it out! I feel my best option is to get the Pro because I will also be able to use the tracking feature when my family and I go on our hikes. Thanks for all the great info!👍

Thank you for the very useful information. I finally decided after a very long time, and I found a flexible way of paying for it, i purchased a mini 3 as an entry-level professional drone. I have wanted to get into the professional drone game for years, and I finally took the leap. I can't wait to start the journey and learn how to use my new mini 3 to its full potential... I was so worried about not having the pro with the sensors, but now that I have the mini 3, I am very happy and satisfied. Enjoy drone life, people. There is a lot to consider when buying a real drone not the quad 4 supper dupper do everything drone from the US and Canadian military . Now avaible from dudd that retired . Mini 3 Pro worth the difference if being honest,fantastic camera and features,and controller screen very good even in sunlight,despite what some reviews have said,obviously didn't know you can increase brightness via pull down screen,great flyer,awesome camera,fantastic remote,and all under 250g,what's not too love 😀

I just recently got this drone with all the extras. But found the bag way too small and didn’t like cramming everything in it. So bought a nice hard shell waterproof case and works much better. Has nice foam inside a So that I don’t have to put the control stems on every time and take them off. Worth the price.

You can actually have the active track and other features not on the dji fly app with third-party apps like Rainbow and Litchi which I use, works perfect. The Mini 3 has been my best drone so far for travel

Another great video Matt, although I was a bit worried how close you were getting to the edge of that cliff when you were talking about active track 🙂I must admit, it looks like the new Mini 3 is more of a replacement for the Mini 2 in terms of it's capabilities. What I would like to see is DJI change their models to a more modular format so that you can attach whichever camera module you want (say the one on the Mavic 3 classic) on the sub-250g models and use with a smaller battery (i.e. to keep the weight under 250g). You could then switch back to a lower grade camera with a higher battery capacity. In fact, I sent this suggestion to DJI the other day and they have passed it on to their Development Team for consideration. I just hope that if this is something DJI adopt going forward, it doesn't make you job harder with the various combinations that will be available to us end users🙂

haha, it's a very popular walk around that cliff! I agree, this Mini 3 is the clear replacement for the Mini 2. A modular style drone would be very popular I think. Have a "base" drone with different camera attachments for example - I would definitely back that!

Thanks for this. I recently bought the mini 3 pro and even though the mini 3 is cheaper, if I had the option when I made my purchase, I would have still gone with the pro model. This is my first drone and the obstacle avoidance was very important to me. That and all the positive reviews, including yours, made my decision to go with the pro a no-brainer. Quick observation and question… I’m using quick transfer to send photos to my phone and the photo info shows that the photos are only 9mp on my phone. So I’m disappointed with the resolution. If I expand them using finger swipe, they don’t seem very sharp. My phone camera seems to do a better job. Am I doing something wrong, or is this normal? Thanks for your attention.

What DJI should consider starting a drone trade in program. It would help customers who want to get started in flying drones and can’t afford a new one, customers who want to upgrade and want to save a little money, it could be considered a Green thing recycling is a big thing these days

I just bought the mini 3 fly more pack during their current sale for $658. Just opened it yesterday and took it out. The camera was great! It’s our first drone it seems awesome so far, but it will be much better once we learn the control. I did not get the rc controller but would consider in the future if flying is for me.

Another great drone from DJI. I got my mini 3 pro 3 months back and it’s been fantastic. I think I would’ve got the pro if the two were available at the same time as it’s my first drone and the added security of the obstacle avoidance gives me piece of mind but apart from that the mini 3 looks to be a bargain.

I just bought a Mini 3 Pro. Still trying to get the rest of the pieces and parts together, so I can start learning to fly it. Takes for ever to get the parts in the mail. I'm interested in doing inspections and work my way up to the photography end of it. It's a little different from my Nikon D80. Still trying to find information about the FFA 107 permit here in my area. I was a stone carver for years and decided it was time for a change.
