Great video - and to add to your comment on why we do these "crazy" things - My father in law's famous quote in our family when his doctor asked why he kept doing week long+ adventure canoe trips well into his seventies was "Because it feels so good when I stop!!!". Gotta get out there in all conditions to get the experience!

I swore I'd never use blocks with plastic cheeks after completing our last ocean crossing. The sun's UV weakens the plastic and they shatter / break at the worst possible times. I replaced all mine with metal cheeked blocks. Yes, they're heavier, but mid-ocean I don't have to worry about them failing on me. Nice boat and great videos!

I really enjoyed that! Thanks for taking us along for the ride. I've often wondered what sailing one of these vessels is really like and that really looked like fun :-) Cheers

Very good lessons here Claus. Thank you. However, I think your reaching should be much faster with your bow higher. I've seen this design's bow ride higher (and dryer). Could it be the bottom needs cleaning?

Tak for videoen. Vh, Axel

@jod35wbskipperclauspederse724 ай бұрын

Which harbour you were sailing out of at 1:00, please? Wanna try recreating your sailing in Sailaway simulator. :-) My guess would be - based on comparing the few scenes in your video with the geographical, terrain and architectural features seen on Google Earth - the marina of Holbæk. Please let me know.
