This is a backstory about how it all began! Especially for those of you who haven't watched some of my earlier videos, this is a glimpse into how I lived and sailed on s/y Sylvia. This footage was shot "back in the days" but never released before. If you want the longer explanation check out the outro of the video (last 3 minutes) These videos are crowdfunded, if you enjoyed watching and want to support, check out the Patreon page at www.patreon.com/alluringarctic Thanks for watching and have a great week everyone! Next up is the Northwest Passage video series, which I'm already working on! Juho

This was a very beautiful story with incredible views of such remote places few will see. The footage was next level! I started watching this channel when you sailed past Vancouver Island, which is where I am from. I can't wait to see the videos of your northwest passage. I followed your progress and was excited to see you reach Greenland.

I have wonderful memories of my trip to Svalbard in 2023 aboard Aurora. I watch your videos with tears in my eyes as you so beautifully illustrate this area. So many moments when I think, I wish I had a picture of that…. Hoping for more photo purchases from your NW passage.

Arctic sailing and skiing what more can you ask for... Simply breathtaking video, beautifully awesome shots. I can only imagine the empty vastness, the cold crisp air and the silence in the arctic but hope one day to experience this myself. Thanks

Juho, amazing. Your best video by a country mile. So professional, could not stop watching. Had watched several of your videos but really wondered about the back story and how you got started. The voice over was brilliant and the wide sweeping shots skiing and climbing awesome.

Wow, this is an absolutely fantastic video! I loved every single moment of it and plan to watch again. The footage alone is stunning, but the editing, voice over, focus on your goals and interests in life is great story telling and drew me in from the very first moments. It’s like watching an adventure movie. The landscapes, the mountains and snow, and you all skiing are all ABSOLUTELY JAW DROPPING GORGEOUS!!! Oh and the glimpses of few friendly wildlife creatures was delightful!! I’ll be joining your patreon to contribute towards more of this. Good luck to you!

I appreciated the extra video. It was beautiful, and it was edited quite professionally, but it was also clear to me that it wasn't done by you. It was cut to appear interesting, but I really like the detail, pacing, and thoughtfulness you include in your own video editing. You are very good at creating videos, from the shot angles, to the mix of ground-based angles and aerial perspectives, to adding a touch of music where appropriate. You are a master of the craft. But I understand that you are very busy just dealing with the arctic and living your boat life, and I will appreciate all of the content you provide however you provide it. Sail on.

I think he is just finding filler material for the time when he is crossing the Northwest Passage (at the moment). It will probably be back to usual schedule in a few weeks/months when he is back to civilization. I liked this as more like a documentary of Juho's journey here.
