Of course Ishiwatari is heavily involved with Guilty Gear. He wrote the entire story, made the soundtrack, and designed all the characters - it's basically his magnum opus! Until X2 or X2AC, he also continued to voice Sol Badguy. Guilty Gear was developed on a super-tight budget, so he helped whereever he could - I believe he used to work for CAPCOM or SNK before, as in, the fighting game dev teams.

I know people generally don't play fighting games for their story, but Guilty Gear's (Sol's specifically) really had an impact on me the first time I played it. That ending imagery of Sol with his hair down and his glowing red eye, gear mark on his forehead, coupled with the text describing that with bloodstained hands he prayed for Justice's soul in a desperate attempt for redemption and atonement while Beyond the Dark Life plays in the background really left me speechless at the end of it. To this day, it's still my favorite fighting game ending. I know that doesn't mean much, though.

As a personal note. I played street fighter, king of fighters, and mortal kombat... Until I played this game I didn't take fighting games seriously: I had very little experience and it took me about an hr to beat justice alone but because of THIS game I wanted to "get good"

I grew up watching my brother play Guilty Gear XX on the PS2, but I‘ve always gave the series a passing fancy, even when Xrd dominated the entire FGC after release. But it wasn’t until STRIVE’s announcement and subsequent beta that I decided to take a closer look at the series, and I deeply regret not having truly known about the series, while at the same time, everything about the series, I’m amazed it’s still a cult classic, as it should have been a mainstream name as Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and Smash. Hopefully with STRIVE coming out, especially since it’s supporting rollback online, new fans like myself are willing to give Guilty Gear a second chance. My one wish is that we get a Guilty Gear PS5/XSX Collection, and Xrd Rev 2 is backwards compatible.

Oh man...I was hoping to see a boss rage of some sort with this boss. Considering how the first GG didn't have any difficulty settings made this almost unplayable in my eyes. Only beaten Justice two times with Sol and Ky before giving up after so many deaths as Chipp that i decided to put my controller down and not touch it again (and I never usually give up. So it's rare for me to put down a game like that)

Trying to get the fight with Baiken is really the only challenge this game has once you realize both the way Instant Kills work and that you have infinite continues. If you know how to Instant Kill and know that it wins you the entire match instead of just the current round like in the sequels, you've basically won the game as long as you're patient enough, because you can lose an infinite amount of times AND you only have to win each fight once.

Fun bit of trivia - the massive blue phallic object is infact NOT a giant erect penis on the PS1, but a codpiece. Still a very questionable design choice since it seems to come from a slot IN the armor, rather than attached to it, but I guess it distacts a bit from the Tekkaman Blade design.

Everything is easy, just use Sol and do his infinite. Imo Justice is cheap than Baiken, she's a zoner. But Baiken can do instakill at the very start of the round so be careful.

Seeing as the entire original cast (minus deceased characters, which would be Testament, Justice and Kliff) is in it, it wouldn’t make sense for them not to put Baiken in. To be clear, the original fighters of Guilty Gear are Sol, Ky, Axl, Chipp, Potemkin, Zato, Millia, May, Faust (Dr. Baldhead at the time) Testament (dead), Justice (Aria’s original Gear form, dead), Kliff (dead) and Baiken.

You can insta-kill Justice, that was actually how I beat her the first time. When I originally played this game it was actually the PS1 version, but was the Japanese version I had a modded ps1. I actually managed to beat the game with all characters except Dr. Baldhead. I did notice though that if you used insta-kills on earlier stages a couple times Justice will use it relatively more commonly.

@@Lightdragon773 Yeah its super not fun. My friend Alex came up with a strategy but it's not a guarantee. You have to use KY and use his Charge Move which is his giant projectile move. You want it to be the slow moving one. You spam that over and over and over again on all characters including Justice. Its the only way I have ever been able to unlock Baiken but like I said its not guaranteed. It will most of time work but it totally depends on what Justice does because he has some moves that will destroy you before you can win.

I am no expert in the lore of Guilty Gear but one thing that confused me is that in Guilty Gear Xrd and Rev2 Justice looks completely different to how she looks in the previous games. Instead of looking like an evil Tekkaman Blade she looked kinda like an Evangelion monster and she is just as big a one to. Can someone please explain why she looks so different now.
