I don't have a grass area as it's too hot and my garden is tiny. Even so, I was fascinated with your clover trial and will be very interested to see your next attempt. Failure is never a failure because you learn something from it and perhaps do better next time. Well done, Patrick. Greetings from Crete ( 38 degrees Celsius)!

Thanks for watching and subscribing from Crete!!! ❤ it’s pretty hot over there didn’t realize it got so hot 🥵.

I just ordered a drought resistant white mini-clover. You're slightly hotter than I am, however we both have issues with moisture or lack there of. I don't want to have to water (ever!) so I am planting the white mini clover in addition to the crimson clover for spring/early summer since the white mini clover does better with warmer temps. Thanks for the update!

@@mattw7662 thank you for subscribing. Stay tuned… I am thinking the fall will be my test for the smaller area.

Thanks for the follow up and good to know. Also, on your closeup of the grass, I would recommend that you sharpen your mower blade(s). The tops of the grass are really mangled. I learned that from my yard guy and now I have two blades, one on the mower and one always sharp waiting in the wings

Thanks for following up. Bummer it didn’t rock. I hit my yard with very little intention besides watering every day. Hoping that “life” would “find a way”. Haha. Nope. Zero clover success for me this Summer. Clarifying… are you gonna try BOTH micro clover on bare soil in one spot and full size clover mixed in to nearby existing lawn to compare results? I’d be excited to see that.

My next "experiment" is going to be that patch of Bermuda grass at the end of the video. The area is 8'x30'. I plan to plant the MINI Clover in the entire area. I am going to totally remove all the grass in 1/2 of the lawn (8'x15') and sow seeds (mini clover) in this area AND the existing Bermuda to get an idea if my theory about the St. Augustine grass choking out the mini clover is correct. I really like the concept of the low growing mini clover (4"-6" height). My water bill is just ridiculous! Thanks for watching and subscribing!

I just did a 100% clover patch in my side yard. It gets sun, while decreasing slowly due to the house shade until about 430pm right now in the summer. The sun starts to cover it around 2. Let’s see how it goes

@@inthegardenwithpatrick6247 it has come in amazingly. I have a clay and granite rock soil that I’ve conditioned and unstoned a lot and put dirt and soil in. The clover is super thick due to my overseeding and has even started to spread a bit outside of my planting area but that’s perfectly fine for me. I only did that patch as it was a lot of work for what I had made good ground already lol.
@biggrizzz68335 ай бұрын
The area is about 5 foot wide and 20ish feet long. Took out probably 1500-2000 pounds in rocks only about fist size or smaller. The ground was littered with rock. I’m happy with the patch ahaa

Have you tried "Blue Star Creeper". I heard it was a good low maintenance ground cover but never tried it. If you are still experimenting, would be interesting to see!

It looks like you might need to sharp your mower blade. Your grass blades look like they are being torn and not being cut cleanly.

What was your sand/seed ratio? Or did you already answer this and I missed it?
@inthegardenwithpatrick62473 ай бұрын
Hi. I did not have a specific ratio. I just had some sand and put the seed with the sand. Nothing special. Thanks for watching.
