I feel like you could make this series even better by discussing the cars themselves more. Give some basic info on the car's performance specs and thoughts on its handling characteristics before and during the shakedown. It would also be cool to hear your thoughts on its viability as a platform. Longer videos in this series would definitely be fun. Great work guys

Have an r60 countryman S All4 which is just the 4-door version of the Paceman, and the AWD is fantastic, you can never really tell that the car is FWD until slippage and I didn't even know that was the case until it was mentioned here! Fantastic handling, relatively low center of gravity for an SUV/crossover-like car and the AWD is fantastic for mountain driving and twisty roads

@@060racing8 maybe on tarmac, but gravel/snow/wet it will be 4WD Also, you reprogram the ECU to get rid of the throttle cut and make the 4WD a bit more aggressive. I know of a guy who had his one done in England, the car runs on a 35/65 split with rear wheel bias. I was passenger on a local winding road and that car felt like a RWD, and that was in the dry. What I like on the WRC model of this car, it sounds like the classic 90s rally cars.

4:26 hi wyatt! What do you mean by throttle cut when you brake quickly or aggressively? One thing I noticed in my one is that despite turning DSC off, it kicks in when the car is engaged in a huge skid. Not the first time it occurred in a car equipped with stability control 🤔
@Teamoneilrally3 жыл бұрын
The throttle cut in modern cars doesn't allow the driver to apply both the throttle and the brake at the same time. So if you have the gas on and you brake aggressively with your left foot, the computer pull power. It can be quite frustrating!

Finally, someone who drives correctly a all wheel drive with Haldex joint! Compliments! Certainly there are many differencies from a "real" AWD, for example Subaru Impreza o Mitsu Lancer. But with the right technique, (weight transfert) you can drive in drift with a little bit angle of steering wheel. I follow you from Italy and the program "Will It Rally?" is very cool!! Now I'm waiting for a new test with other Haldex car, why not a Audi S1 2.0 TFSI? Thanks! 😄

My Mazda 3 gives me about 2 seconds of braking before the throttle cuts, and that "feature" can be disabled by holding both pedals down with the key on/engine off for 30 seconds. Release the throttle, and you have ten seconds to start the engine. The two seconds is plenty for the street though. Can't wait to see the vans and other unconventional cars.

This may never get seen, but I want to also point out that this appears to be the ONLY video featuring the 6 speed manual version of the Paceman. Most of them are tested with automatic transmission (snore). I personally feel disconnected without a stick shift. I tried the fast V6 RAV4 AWD; and while it was quick, the lack of relationship to the car was really off putting. Hoping to give this one a go in the very near future. I personally love the arguably more “muscular” (some consider it bloated… potato, tomato) appearance; and the two doors, while likely less practical, just mean you have to hit it from the back more often; and make fewer fake friends. To me, this car is the b-i-double izness. It’s the slightly arrogant cousin of the Suzuki Samurai.
