Hey i think for the APR bolts on the rods you should put the lube on the threds. i think it helps torqe them to the right speck from what i understood from my machine shop

Hey Jaime, Thanks for putting out these engine rebuild videos, I'm in the middle of an engine rebuild of my R53 and these have become very helpful! QQ, Can you share the part number of the king bearings you use for both, mains and connecting rods?

Brother thank you for the feedback. I no longer have the emails for this build....I would check RockAuto. They pretty much outsource everything without the price gouging.

What size big end bearing did you use as they come in two sizes .25 and .50

.0015 is right in the middle of the required .001-.002????? and no lube on rod bearings????

I left them as OEM gaps...

The ARP sheet for con rod bolts call for 25ftlb . You have the wrong sheet

It's funny in the haynes manual it shows that when mating the two blocks together not to put sealant up to the bearing caps and the front part of the engine oil pump chamber. This is clearly wrong and would cause the bearing caps not to seat properly and oil to leak behind the oil pump cover. Did you see that in the book 👍

Where should loctite be applied when mating these two pieces of block?

The oil pump cover has the oil pump in it. That whole area is bathed in oil. Putting sealant on that mating surface, which has oil on either side of it, makes no sense.

No doubt. I've rebuilt jetskis engines that were close to being bigger, at least until everything else was connected!

The R53 engine is a modified dodge neon engine from 2003
