Mini Cooper SE Range Calculator - Important Updates! (IOS Shortcut)

Got my new Mini Cooper SE 2023 few days ago and your calculator definitely comes in handy!! Thank you. Got a question though, some times I get some 'crazy numbers', like.. ** Total Range (From 77% charge): 228.53 Km ** Total Range (From 100% charge): 296.803 Km.. they look perfect, but would that be the case?

No - that does not seem right. I would expect 225 - 240 km under ideal driving conditions. If you want - share your numbers the next time you get a weird result like that. (start-batt, end-batt, km driven). I might need to check the script to make sure there isn't a problem in the calculations.

Great shortcut. I’m having trouble with it, because I enter the values but no results. What am I doing wrong?

I'm having the same issue. I can enter values, but don't get any results. Using the Unit KILOMETERS, +Weather data link. I can only choose a comma instead of a dot sign to enter the remaining battery value, the keyboard doesnt allow me. So for example 0,52 instead of 0.52. I don't know if this is the problem ...

you can edit the shortcut and change his values 28.9 to 28,9 to fix it. @@janisd8563

Thanks for all of your "In Focus" videos for the MINI Cooper SE. Do you have any suggestions for moving this data into a spreadsheet?

Disclaimer: It might just be faster to re-key the data points into a spreadsheet you have already formatted - but - if you are going to copy the data often into a spreadsheet, then I recommend you first edit the IOS shortcut (might want to save a copy of it first!), go down to the third row from the bottom that is labeled "text", and delete all of the data field names such as "Driven:", "Start-Batt:", etc, as well as the first line of asterisks. Just leave the blue variable field names that have the icons next to them. This will make your IOS note harder to read on FUTURE runs of the calculator, but much easier to format in Excel. The existing data in the note is already 'stuck' with the field names. For example - from IOS Notes to Windows Excel: (1) Copy entire IOS note and paste into an email to yourself (2) Windows - open email and copy note (3) Open Excel and paste note (4) Select the entire "Column A" column then click Data and "text to columns" (6) Click delimited, next, select "other" and type an asterisk in the box next to other, and click the box that says "treat consecutive delimiters as one". Click finish. At this point your data should be separated into columns, but it will have the field names in each cell, such as "Driven: 58 miles", "Start-batt: 100". It would require additional edits if you just want the numbers in the cells, which is why I suggested deleting the field names in the shortcut.

Great Job. In your opinion why the difference in total range estimate with a. 100% battery vs anything less?

Users wanted the two values, so that if you start a road trip, for example, with 92% battery, what total range did you get out of that 92%? Versus if you had started the trip with 100% charge, your total range would have been a bit higher.

Very cool! Curious to know if it also works in reverse (I enter the miles I need to travel and it tells me the required battery percentage or total kWh)
