Very helpful video. I want to get this bike rack. My husband thinks it will somehow mess up the car, and lower its resale value. But, from your video, it doesn't look like it would hurt the car in anyway. Nice video.

@Chris Lui Yes it should, if it comes with the standard bike rack prep it will. All UK Countryman's comes with this. You can double check by seeing if you if you have the two securing holes (shown in the video) plus the electrical socket under the rear of the car.

I'm unable to fit to my car as it has only one towing point at the rear. I'm sure I can have another fitted if I can find one. Any idea where I might find one?

@hi6306 the reversing sensor is disabled. Stability is rock solid, I don't even notice when it's on!

I have a 2012 ALL 4 and don't notice the plug connection under the bumper as shown in this video.

Over $400 from the dealer but it's kinda worth it and it won't damage your car. I would only buy t if you intend to keep the car for a few more years.

Yeah, the original BMW/Mini parts are really pricey. But you definitely cannot argue with the quality & function. My wife saved up a little and got me one for Christmas this year. I also have a 2016 Countryman. I do hate that the European & American versions are different, because I like the aesthetic of the lights - kind of justifies the price point a little for me. But I do still love the bike rack overall.

what's the point of this when you can get a hitch mount on any car? or is this just a cool gimmick type thing?

On a Mini Countyman the Bike Rack prep in Europe comes as standard (inc electrical socket) saving you the cost of the hitch mount . It's just a very neat solution. You could of course still opt for a hitch mount but Mini/BMW would charge in excess of £500 for the privilege.
