Mini Cupcake Piping Tip Techniques Tutorial #5

Hi and welcome back to my kitchen. It's has been a while since I created a piping tips techniques video where I show you 4 different tips and the effects they make on the top of cupcakes. For this video I will be using mini cupcakes, which are the perfect bite size treat!
Throughout this video the piping tips I use are the 195K to create a large inside out swirl, the 124 petal tip to create pretty ruffles, the 22 small star tip to create a mini swirl dome and lastly the Wilton 6d to make a decorating peak of buttercream.

I don’t know if this will help you but Pinterest has loads of “cheat sheets”. Just search piping tips and you will see them. I love the tutorials by this young woman. She’s honestly the best. I am just learning also. It looks like fun. 🌿🌸🌿

Hi Cakes by lynz! Great job! What is your buttercream recipe converted to cups? What is your exact process. I was having trouble understanding it in the video. How long do you leave your butter out for it to get to room temperature? How do you get your buttercream so smooth? Pls let me know! Thanks.

Hi, Thank you for your message. We don't really use cups as a method of measurement in the UK, but I have looked into it for you and it would be 3 cups of icing sugar to 3/4 cups of butter. When making the buttercream I leave the butter until it is slightly soft to the touch. I then mix the icing sugar and butter together with the quantity of milk and flavouring that I mention in my buttercream tutorial for around 5 minutes until it is smooth. I really hope this helps.
