I currently have two pairs of the Australian wood ducks that visit the creek and surrounding grass on my property. I wonder if I'll see chicks with them this Spring. They are lovely to watch ❤

Place a nesting box in a tree and you will have duck families. Ensure that the hole is the correct size for wood ducks and a mesh grid of specific specification so the ducklings can climb up to the exit.

Just amazed at this beautiful footage. We have the Wood ducks on our ponds but we rarely see the juveniles. Fantastic documetary👍

Plenty of these lovely feathered creatures where I live so it was very interesting to learn from this video about them after they're born.

The video was great, the editing, the style though I would recommend if you do another one of these to pace the voice so it's more consistent and there aren't large patches of voicelessness but besides that it was really good and I would like to see more of these in the future

Thanks for your honest feed back Ethan, I purposefully meant to leave gaps without commentary as I still like to have parts where you can sit and watch without me constantly talking throughout it which I thought might spoil it. But I would definitely shorten the length of the segments without commentary as I kind of felt the same way having them a bit too long in some parts. I'll remember that for next time! ;)

Nice documentary! it's very professional and it reminded me of watching the nature documentaries on TV! The American wood ducks are so different from these! but all in all they are both beautiful and that's what really matters:)
@TheNatureEnthusiast7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Heron boy, I'm glad it looks professional to you - I wasn't to sure how I felt about the video at the time. Your American wood ducks are certainly a lot more pretty then our wood ducks. But as you say they're both equally beautiful! :)

I have a question. Do these things taste good? The wood ducks we have here in the southeastern United States taste amazing.

Totally different breeds. All ducks taste good though.

actually its Chenonetta jubata - but this is not a wood duck at all.

We have wood ducks and black ducks and I've always thought it would be so easy to just take one out with a rock and eat it. Maybe that's just me.
