Thanks, helped immensely on an R53 as well. I used brake cleaner first before lubing to flush out any dirt then used ACF 50 to lube it

Thanks for your video but no luck. My driver's door handle on 2013 needs both my hands to open and depending on weather I have to open from inside passenger side. Took it dealership for repair and $200 later no change 😫

My mini Cooper 2012 driver does not stay completely closed sometimes. I hold the door from the inside a bit when I close it and then it stays completely closed. Will this Teflon and cleaning fix this problem

It sounds more like the door striker needs to be adjusted, but cleaning and lube is always the first step!

@@danjreed I used a torx bit to loose the door strike catch, it did not seem to be adjustable. I cleaned with a rag, used some break cleaner and then some lube...... Seems to have helped. Thanks so much for your kind reply

@@tommyjoe4310 It does have a small adjustment - just a few MM on the body of the car. It takes some force to get them to shift when the torx bolts are loose.

The door handles are terrible. Poor. Mine feel really rough to touch on the inside and need a lot of pull.

Dan, my inside door lock is now stuck in that up/back position. Pulling inside door handle, our side door handle, locking/unlocking toggle doesn't do anything! 2013 JCW that had very stiff/sticky door handles. Help!

Hi Dan and thanks for your reply. I was able to fix this with help from a MINI owners group on Facebook. All I needed to do was push on the lock mechanism itself while at the same time pulling on the inside door handle! All good now.

I did the lube fix on the black part of my Mini door handle, but now it's not working at all, it depresses but I can only open the door from the inside. Any ideas?

I would not use machine oil, it may not be safe with plastic parts. The oil I use with my clipper is for steel only.

Nope, WD-40 is the worst thing to use here. Its greasy, and will attract more dirt.
