I've found that keeping a log book with successful temperature and timer combos is rather handy. I'm looking into doing a digital temp controller upgrade soon.

Does it rotate and the bottom part come out of the hopper on the rotation but no dough comes out? If that's the case then your dough is too thick.

It could be your wattage or amps aren't enough. It needs 30 amps.

We've never used one. But check with your local health department and the local laws & regulations where you're at. It would probably depend on where you plan to use it.

@AtoZForMoms

It's a process!! You have to pretty much take the machine apart. Once you drain all the oil you then wipe everything down. Next time we use the machine I'll have to record a clean up video.

Can you tell me which kind of generator you use? We have this machine and our generator is tripping. It has 5280 running power. The machine itself takes 30amps.
@AtoZForMoms
@AtoZForMoms 3 жыл бұрын
It needs at least 3,000 watts- not peak watts, but minimum. I believe ours is 5,000 watts with 7,500 watts peak. And we weren't able to run anything else on the generator. We ended up getting a 9,000/11,000 one so we could run a couple things on one generator. My husband could tell you a little better- I'll double check with him when he gets home tonight and make sure I'm giving you the right information. It does take 30amps which gets tricky and very demanding on the generator. In hindsight we wished we would have paid the extra up front for a gas machine.

Hi! Looking in to starting a mini donut business, but there isn’t much info about how and where to start. Is it easy to set up and take down? Do you have a video on breaking the machine down. Also is it a good side business? Thanks!
@AtoZForMoms
@AtoZForMoms 2 жыл бұрын
The biggest issue with setting up/taking down is heating the oil up- then waiting for the oil and machine to cool down before you can pack up. It would work best in a trailer or food truck where you don't have to worry about waiting until the oil cools off and the machine is cool enough to move. It's easy to set up, however the machines can be finicky- wind, weather etc. will effect the oil temps. You need steady oil temps to cook the doughnuts. If you have $40,000 minimum to start out and buy a truck or trailer to do it from and don't mind long days and doing events then it could be worth it. For us we did it as a side business for fun on the weekends and eventually it wasn't worth our time and investment to continue doing while it consumed all our weekends. So we stopped for now. We'll still use the machine for block parties, family events, etc. It would probably depend largely on where you live and how much time and money you are willing to invest. Hope that helps!

@@AtoZForMoms Thank you! I have a plan to buy a small concession trailer. Nothing to big. I would like to do weekends at the farmers market, events, and maybe parties. I’m a nurse full time and want to sell my cake jars and mini donuts as a side job. Thanks for the info. Stay safe and blessed☺️🙏🏾

I have this machine but can't figure where to plug it up because it keeps tripping my fuel box..where do you plug yours?
@AtoZForMoms
@AtoZForMoms 2 жыл бұрын
It's a 30 Amp machine so you have to have the right plugs, and breakers if you're plugging it in a building or house. I believe it needs a dedicated breaker. If you have the gas powered one I can't help you. Ours is electric.

We ordered it online years ago, it's no longer available from the same seller, but here's another one like ours: amzn.to/3CeKKGW And yes, to the doughnut size question. It came with 3 molds for different sized doughnuts from mini to large. We have only ever used it with the mini size though, that is the size in the video.

@AtoZForMoms
@AtoZForMoms 2 жыл бұрын
On our machine, we set it to about 210-220, but it was in Celsius. You're best off using a candy thermometer and going with the doughnut setting- I think it's around 360F. There's so many factors that play into it- outside temps, wind, etc. It's a learning curve.

Is it electric? Propane?
@AtoZForMoms
@AtoZForMoms 3 жыл бұрын
Ours is electric, it takes a LOT of amps so we have to have a dedicated generator for it. In hindsight we wish we would have got a propane one instead (they cost a little more).

@@AtoZForMoms So, this specific machine can be propane? How many donuts can it make in an hour?
@AtoZForMoms
@AtoZForMoms 2 жыл бұрын
The one we have is electric only. You can get propane versions but it's a different machine. The number of doughnuts per hour depends on the size and temp of your oil....I don't remember off hand but I'd say it can make about 2-4 mini doughnuts per minute, so 120-240 per hour if you were able to maintain the speed and oil temps.
