Thanks, that was great. I ordered this camera today. (Mini Evo, John Lewis £174.99) Looking forward to the little prints, but not too many! I have been taking pictures since the 1980's, but seldom print anything! I send a few photos by email, to a few friends. I'm not even on Facebook. I'll be discovered, long after I have expired, ha ha. Peace.

i just bought this 2days ago and Im already 60 prints in. im still in love with the mini 40 the images are more nostalgic looking! My s22 plus and iphone 13 pics are awesome as well!

Hi ! Can I check how long does your mini evo last for when fully charged? I saw online that some can last for a day but mine only lasted for 1-2hrs and took around 30 pictures. Was also wondering if I can get the battery replaced if there’s a need to?

Hi Robert, Could you suggest us some high end pocket led lights to use with the Instax Mini Evo? I got the Vibe P96, but would like something more powerful. What woul be your advice?

Hey. Thanks for watching. I use the Small Rig P96 (the two color, not the RGB) and it's really bright. You could pick up the G1s amzn.to/438NELh That's even brighter, but a little heavy if you ask me. There is also the weeylite S05. I have several and they light weight and very bright. Seems to me that while you would really want to have a backup camera that can shoot RAW you may still be able to get useable larger prints out of this camera in a pinch using something like Topaz Gigapixel to upscale. The files are 5MP, so a 2X upscale is already 10MP. Definitely workable. I recently upscaled an old iPhone 5S photo (1280x720) of my dog to 33MP with excellent results. The main thing you are missing out on is RAW data, but yeah. Expose right and things will probably be fine haha.

Yup. Topaz would help with resolution, but not detail or color. The file size is so small, not even 1mb usually, it is so compressed, that the upscaler would upscale the artifacts. That wouldn't be of much help, but you could do it.

can you take the picture off your phone and print it bigger, maybe onto a 3x5 for example? or even just so you have a digital copy?

Yes. I feel like you can print up to 4x6 without the image falling apart. If you print too big you will begin to see the shortcomings of a small file size and resolution.

Yes, absolutely. You can hold the camera and take the picture in any orientation you like.

I noticed that the camera can get 200 diferent film effects, 10 lens effects+10 film effects then in the camera settings you can choose the photo color strength, standard or vivid. so the 100 effects becomes 200 different effects. i played around with my brown mini evo and found i can have vivid or standard color photos. amazing for such a little camera. i also think the 5 megapixel sensor blends really good with the retro style of the camera. i have 3 20 year old digital cameras a4mp Gateway and a 5 mp olympus and a 6 mp pentax and the photos look similar.

dunno if you can help, Cant connect the camera to PC, and Bluetooth isn't working. This might sound weird.. but I don't have a smart phone. Nod for the getting back to taking photos, I've got 2 black photos I cant delete because of it xD

Bluetooth connection to your PC won't work because you have to have the Evo app. So, it won't connect to your PC via Bluetooth for any way to control or transfer photos. The only other way to transfer photos is to take the SD card out and put it in your PC. Then you can format delete transfer, whatever you want.

No reviews on the Mini 99? Most agree thats the Instax camera to get for 2024. I certainly prefer it to the Evo. Surprised you havent tried it yet.

Not any longer. The original black versions had micro USB ports, and the new brown versions had USBC ports. All black and brown versions currently have USB c ports. So, no more difference. Plus the brown looks awesome!

You can take the pictures in any way that you want, but the border will always be at the bottom. So if you take them in landscape, it'll be on the left side. If you take them in portrait it'll be on the bottom. Either way, it's a lot of fun. Good luck.

Wedding photographers are getting selfish these days and started price gouging would be couples. Someone advertised they were looking for an affordable photographer so I answered them saying I would be using this particular camera. They would get 20 prints and the sd card. Showed them samples and they accepted my offer for $300 while my competitors were offering $975 at the cheapest. Word of mouth spread and I already shot 12 other weddings. Great camera/Side money maker.

I do when I need one, but that isn't very often. Moreover, I use a selphy stick and self timer or the app to get angles I can't get from normal reach.

I Just wasted my money on this thing. It started off working perfectly for few months and then it constantly fails every time I tried to print. I probably wasted around 5 boxes worth of film.. It constantly says “print error”. Tried to look for solutions online to no avail. Apparently it’s a common issue with the mini evo but not a single person is able to find the fix. Took it to the local service center and they couldn’t fix it (living in a 3rd world country basically no customer service). Now its just a digicam with a 80% print failure rate

Well, there's got to be more reasons for the problem you're experiencing than just the product being bad. Fujifilm generally has great products, and I don't think other reviewers our experiencing the problem you're stating. I know I'm not experiencing it. I've had a great time with this camera. As far as customer service, mail. Mail it to Fuji film. They have a 1-year warranty. Email them, no matter if you live in a third world country or not you can still get/send mail, right?

The image quality on the evo is by far the worst I've had on any instax camera (been using them for almost 15 years.) What gives Fuji? Photos come out Brown, dark, and underexposed. Really disappointing.
