Mini Excavator Cutting a trail up a mountain

My neighbors wanted to put a new deer blind in up on the high side of the valley. So they needed me to cut a trailer to get up there for construction.

She’s tired. Had a hard life before I got it. I hardly use it anymore it just sits in the shed now. But it sounds worse than it is.

It would have been a good video to get the 1010 up there to clean that trail up a bit. I just want to see it putt around and do a little work.

The 1010 is a great machine but being a straight blade would have been difficult to cut that trail. It was also pretty rocky so the chances of throwing a track were pretty high. But I sold the 1010 to buy my 941 track loader. Made out pretty good considering I paid $500 for the 1010 and got almost $3200 for it!

@@AbramsExcavating I didn't know you sold the 1010 or bought a 941. Did you cover it in a video? I thought the 1010 would have been good to brush up the trail after you roughed it in with the excavator. I just saw your new D3 video so that will be handier around the property than the 1010 anyway.

@@kirkpalmer1709 yea when I had the chance to pick up a 941 for near the price of what I sold the 1010 I couldn’t refuse! It’s in my “moving dirt with vintage equipment video” Yea the d3 is a sweet little dozer! That would have cut the trail nicely!

Is this unmanaged forrest? Seems to be a lot of dead wood there. Is that your Brute force?

Yea it’s a large chunk of land my neighbors own for hunting. It’s just empty ground. Nothing can really be done with it because of it being wet and steep terrain. Yup that things a beast!

@@AbramsExcavating Have you tried digging a level grade with the bucket and then pushing with the blade?

@@xTheJmanChannel yea that works well, I don’t think the video shows what this ground is like. That’s a hillside full of round rocks. The goal here was not perfection just quick and easy access to a hunting blind.
