You are not "choking" a diesel. The throttle control moves a fuel supply rack and "off" merely cuts the fuel off. If it is starting OK, then it does not need a pre-heat device, but very cold mornings might require a squirt of "Start Ya bastard", to give it a kick.

Does it not have pre-heat (glow plug) by putting the key in and turning it backwards for 15secs like the larger UME's do?

correct, it does not. for what reason, I do not know. The good news is, its been easy to start every time so far

I’m looking to buy one of these to do my own fence install and prep a shed slab for concrete, plus a bit of garden work. Also side note. Just run it at full noise. It’s less strain on everything when the Motor is running at full power, the hydraulics will relieve if you work them too hard rather than the motor stalling.

run the auger at high idle in " bony" ground (boulders) to save excess wear. If itvstopz, apply slight pressur UP AND SLIGHT turn to lift a boulder Your helper can see in the hole what you are up against. if its a rock that won't move drill each side to make the hole bigger. I made Good money with my Skid steer and auger drilling anchor holes that must be Bang on for the arches of green houses.
