Thanks for the video and your thoughts as they helped confirm why I'm backing the KS this time. As someone who loves trains and train themed games, Mini Express interests me and glad I stumbled upon the KS. I own several cube rails games that require a min 3-player count (e.g., Iron Rails series; a few Travis D Hill titles) but since I mostly only play games with only , and 2-player shared incentives train games don't work at 2-players, Mini Express looks more appealing and likely to get played.

11:50 If you consider those games to be in the same genre… I personally don’t. They are all train games, but the Martin Wallace ones are more pickup-and-deliver-like. These are more like the “cube rail”/18xx adjacent games of buying stock, building track and one other thing - depending on the game. It could be selling stock, for example; but it could also be a different mechanism as the 3rd mechanism. In Steam, Age of Steam, Railways of the World, etc. yeah, you are building track, but you aren’t really buying stock (you technically do in Age of Steam, but it is a different mechanism - it is more like taking out a loan, because you will be paying for it later).

I was on the fence about backing this one...it's interesting that you think it works best at 2 since a lot of cube rail games are better at higher player counts.

I've got Age of Steam, Iberian Gauge, Union Station and one more, Ride the Rails I think. So it's cute but the last thing I need is another cube rails light game. Thanks for the review Alex.

I have Mini Express and Mini Rails (backed both the first Express KS), Union Station, 18Chespeake, 1861/1867 and I backed Shikoku 1889. I would like to also get Westward Rails.
