Great detailed overview Ben. I have the display in my GP here in the US and wondering if you have the same issue as I do. I noticed in the video and the same for me that the acceleration testing comes up in KPH despite the display being set to MPH. When accelerating the KPH speed shown is actually MPH so it doesn't register unless you are going 100mph instead of KPH! Everything else about the display I love including more accurate speed and fuel gauge. In the US it even displays the road speed limit next to the current speed.

Hey Zachary, how odd, I seem to be having the same issues. I have fed it back to the manufacturer to see if it can be corrected for when the right hand drive variant launches. I have to agree too, the display is fab! I also have the speed limit readout on the display too which is a welcome addition considering I didn’t have that feature before.

Thanks Ben, great video. I have a 2017 F56 3 door, I don’t have the light package where you changed it above the interior light. Im wondering if it will change the lighting through the idrive display? That’s how I normally change the lighting.

Hey! Thank you. That’s a very good question and to be honest I don’t know the answer of. I’d imagine it would be red which is the default colour but I can’t be 100%. It doesn’t change colour based on the current driving mode but based on the current lighting colour set by the switch in the roof. As you don’t have this I’m not 100% which colour yours would be.

Can this display be installed in the current production LCI2 (new trim pieces) -- for the F55/F56?

Unfortunately it can’t, it can only be installed in pre-LCI and LCI variants

I’ve not had any issues, however, when I had my car scanned at MINI with their computers it wouldn’t work so I had to remove it.

Hi Ben, hope you’re well, I was just wondering if you’ve had any issues with the display syncing with the drive-side digital display. speedo. Mine appears to have a discrepancy of 3kms. It’s not a big drama but I was hoping to synch it more accurately.

I have the F56 JCW so no front fog light switch for me as there is a radiator where the light lives on yours, can I still change it to MPH if I got one?? Good video as per

Hey 👋 thank you ☺️ of course! The method for the MINI’s with no fog lights is to open the left door and flash the high beam 5 times. An odd way but it works 😁

Hi, I have already installed in my car an aftermarket CarPlay. In order to access the apple car play I have to long press the back button . In that way I enter to the apple car play mode. I am afraid that If I add the display that also needs the back button to open/close, that will disable the functionality of the apple car play. Do you know if I can bypass this issue ?

HI ROLFE I HAVE JUST FITED THE PASSENGER DISPLAY IN MY NEW MINI F 56 JCW the problem is after running the car for about 30 min it stops working if then i stop the car for 5 min it will come back on , do you know what can be making this problem . the car is new so i cant go back to BMW they will not look at it for me , can you help? phil

Can you hide the rpm display (the numbers not the meter)? It gets annoying to some passengers cause it changes all the time
