That is humungous and in London! Wow, how on earth!? I'm struggling to find and afford a one bedroom in a house to rent! Ahhh! :) It's beautiful though, that's my dream flat! It's perfect! I'm literally just opened mouthed at how perfect it is! It's like my student accommodation I was in last year - a huge window sill I could work on with a view! Gosh, it's beautiful

***** It's on the outskirts of London (right on the edge of the tube map) so it's not as expensive as in London however I've been working and saving since I was 5 years old to be able to buy a place like this! It hasn't been easy and this is the end of a very long journey! xxx

@steviebetts Yes it's truly difficult :(. I moved back in with my parents after Uni as I literally could not afford to live alone. Price wise, it's different across the country. I've been looking at one rooms in house/flat shares in London and it's £550 minimum a month. Renting whole flat in London is practically unthinkable at this point! I doubt I'll ever be able to buy somewhere to live. Amazingly, for the same price in the town where I grew up (out of London) I could get a small house or two bedded flat! It's crazy! Sometimes we have to spend time putting dreams and career jobs aside and focusing on saving up - that's what myself and others I know are doing :(. Gosh I'm writing an essay haha! Finding a job/somewhere decent/safe and affordable to live is a really big worry of mine too right now! Hug

***** I thought you were renting - goodness me! That explains all the painting! The place I'm about to secure for this summer (renting) has been quite strict on "changing" the room. No posters, paint etc! Nice paint! I'm not a purple fan, but in certain lights, that paint does look pinkish (YES!) :D. Well done on the new home! That sounds like a long journey, so good for you :). Also, well done on the DM too - I haven't been able to read, but from what I've seen - it looked good :). It looks so adorable! A rug under the chalk wall would be a great idea. We always keep a vacuum handy when we do full wall designs to do a quick vacuum. Also, use dry clothes to wipe up any dust, wet cloths with color chalk just makes a gigantic smeared mess.

You have a really nice home, I like the color of the walls, they're restful. You could make more space in your mug shelf by drilling in hooks to the bottom of the shelf above and hanging them.

For your chalkboard wall you might try chalk markers instead of actual chalk sticks. The colors are more vibrant and their is no chalk dust to bother with. Just clean the chalkwall with warm water and a clean cloth when you need to.

Carrie I read the web version of that which you tweeted earlier and honestly you inspired me. I've been bullied by not only the bullies but also the people who should have helped me through it and you have just inspired me to put the hard work in to prove them wrong. When I release my first album there will be a song which I dedicate to all of those bullies, and a teacher, where I will thank them for trying to ruin my future, as a thank you for getting me to that place because without them I wouldn't have written my first song. Just had to stop myself there cus I felt a rant coming along but thank you so much for being you and making KZbin videos which never fail to cheer me up when I'm down.

Beautiful apartment! Good luck with the chalk board wall, we did the same in our kitchen and what started as creative and fun turned into a massive mess. We use it to stick photos,drawings,letters etc to and it looks fantastic now.

for the chalk board i would suggest using water-based chalks as there's no dust and they only rub off with wet wipes so they last longer. they also keep the chalkboard looking nice xxx

Hey Carrie! I'm so proud of you on your new flat!! Just as a suggestion: if you hang some hooks in your mug cupboard, you'll be able to fit more in. In my house we have this little spinning hook thing that can hold like 6-8 mugs. You can hang some of the smaller ones up (just be careful not to drop them).

With the fridge problem put cold water, ice and the things you want cold in a basin and cover with a wet tea towel. It should help a little.

as a univeristy student, i would recommend IKEA desks. they have some that have dry erase boards built in that are great for writing schedules and reminders on... or doodling... mostly doodling.

Milk usually curdles when it's close to the expiration date, so buy the one that's got the furthest expiry date and store it in a cupboard to slow it down. It's better to get UHT milk than fresh one though, since fresh spoils quickly.

Dear Carrie...with the TV problem you could instead get a projecter to put on a shelf that points to above the fireplace. Then you could connect it to your laptop and watch movies on it like a private cinema. Just an idea which I hope you see, I do it and it's really cool:) x

If you get a TV you can hook it up to your laptop and watch KZbin etc on a big screen! And I'd recommend getting a combi washer/dryer and then a dishwasher to fill the second space, it saves SO much time and energy compared to washing up :)

Hey Carrie! I have a recommendation about the chalk wall. I love the idea of them so I have done some looking about trying to find how different people use them and I found that if you mix water and crushed chalk together you'll get this paste that you can draw on with a paintbrush and it gives you a more clean control of what you put on and it's less messy! You can use different colors and mix colors and I think it's great. Just thought I'd share :) have a lovely day! -Klara
