Nice review, thanks. Looks very similar to a Super Console X. Any idea if the trackball you reviewed for RetroPie would work on this? It's an issue for Super Console X. Actually, it's either that I just can't find the mouse settings or it can't be done.

I have noticed that with a few of these boxes and hard drives from China, that sometimes each system needs a little tweaking of the default emulator to get the optimal performance out of a particular game. With the Mario Cart game in N64 you may want to go to the settings and try a different emulator which might help it run a bit smoother. I know for a fact that some of these boxes do not run Redream as the default emulator for the Dreamcast system, but usually the games run much smoother with that emulator. So far I have only tried a 2 TB Batocera hard drive connected to my PC and it runs great.

Yeah definitely a lot you can do with settings adjustments. Still isn't great with the entire n64 collection but small improvements can be made. N64 is fussy though for sure. Agreed with Dreamcast. In general with Dreamcast sometimes you have to flip between emulators to find what handles each title better. It's not always cut and dry but as we know nothing ever is with emulation gaming.

I think these devices are neat BUT, they shouldn't include games that can't run smoothly if the emulation and power of the device is weak.

You can also go in the settings and turn the frame rate counter on to make sure you’re getting full frame rate, and you can upscale these games to 1080p in the settings, to make them look even clearer, if the system can handle it. These boxes kind of scare me to buy because on tech dweebs video he was running all n64 games at 960P and they all ran perfectly smooth but on yours they hardly run at all and it’s the same console.

I’m a bit confused over the NES having 1878 games. It definitely didn’t release that many titles.

Prob different versions for certain titles. We see that a lot with emulation. You have games that were released in US or other regions that can differ.

All of these Chinese systems have hacks of games and games for every region (Europe, Japan, USA). This is the reason the game counts are high .

I don't believe there's any plug and play mini consoles that can handle all of that effortlessly but here's what you could do and it would be that expensive. Get the console below. It's a powerful compact HP pc and it can get you into gamecube ps2 and n64 extremely well. You can load batocera onto a ssd and install the ssd within this console. You basically turn this pc into its own console. It about $110 for the pc and a ssd could be pricey depending on what you go with but if you wanted a 500gb ssd you're looking at around $50-$75. It's a excellent setup. I thought I did a video on this but I think I just did some short videos showing how I installed the ssd. I'll have to do a full video. amzn.to/3Gzpv6z

I was surprised Mario kart 64 ran than poorly.. i had super console x pro that have way less juice than this it ran it almost flawless.. but the N64 library has overall always struggled on these boxes

Don't believe there's anything plug and play that's going to cover all of that. For ps3 you need a gaming pc. Xbox 360 the same except you are even mote limited because you can't effectively emulate 360 on anything linux based. Batocera for example would be out of the question. In my opinions 360 emulation isn't good enough yet to really enjoy.
