Good little kit, pretty much a take on the old school British SAS e & e/survival pouch which was a similar size and fitted a rectangular mess tin inside. Those mess tins were issued to the British, Dutch, South African and Australian armies, I believe the Dutch still use them (theirs are stainless rather than aluminium), but I guess they'd be pretty costly to buy in the USA so the loaf tin is a good solution. Having said that if I can only have one cooking vessel I opt instead for a canteen cup, the idea of which comes from the US who had them way before other armies. The Dutch stainless canteen cup is identical to the US one but a bit more robust apparently, I have one of those for camping/bushcrafting but in my ultralite survival pouch I carry the Swiss M81 cup which is aluminium.

i have to say i am one of the people that over did things when i started. the problem with the stuff i got is that it is enough to make about 4 bug out bags / survival bags..... the problem is that they are not small like this they are 35 liter packs. i believe i will be making a couple packs like this. since my wife and i dont get around to good any more these will be used as a last layer as we move if we have to be on foot. if we have the car we will have everything but once we loose the car its all based on the layers ..... great work to the person that put this together and thanks for showing it. there are some great ideas in there ..... i have to say you have done a lot to remind me of the days in the corp and how we were trained to pack tight and light. thanks for all you do Semper Fi little brother

This morning I stopped by the military surplus store and held the same pouch you have. I did not buy it ($6.95) but after seeing your kit with the baking pan in it I will go back and get it. I never thought of a small baking pan. It is perfect. A container for water is the bulkiest thing to carry when you want to go small/compact. Your water pouches takes care of that. Thanks for your video. It gave me some fresh ideas.

This kit pretty much mirrors what I have in each of my vehicles. Really the only thing different is that I have put 4 heavy gauge 55 gallon plastic liners instead of just the 1. I put in 4 bags since my vehicles carry 4 people. I have also put in a life straw for water. I don't think I need to carry too much water since I live in an area of lots of rivers, lakes and ponds. Good video. Blessings

Good item to have in a kit is tea bags. Gives you a hot drink and the used tea bag can be used as gaze or tinder should you have to relight your fire. Also the used tea bag when still wet can help treat sunburn. Grandfather always said to have a couple tea bags in re hunters bag.

That kit looks like a copy of the M4040 ammo pouch kit that he first posted about 15 years ago. The loaf pan is mainly for boiling water. You need a large zip lock bag to carry the water in. You can pour the boiling water directly into the bag, it won't hurt the plastic.

Great video brother! I agree on the weight issue 100% Ounces equals pounds and pounds equals pain! My weight on my GHB comes in at 6 kilos (12 LBS) . Contents are Sawyer mini, Military poncho(Doubles as cover element) Fire kit, 40 OZ klean kanteen with Gsi nesting cup, Spare shirt,Wool socks, Under ware, Wet wipes, Spork, Field striped MRE, Tea, coffee, Hot chocolate, Cordage(100 Ft Paracord, 50 Ft #32 Bankline) Bacho Laplander, Head lamp, Buck Knife Omni hunter 12pt fixed blade( Sabre grinds are the best IMO) Gorilla tape, schemaugh , Mechanix gloves, Small med kit including Soft-t (Cause you never know) This is if I have to leave my vehicle, But my Cat Kit has more items if I need to stay with my vehicle like in the winter. Our temps will drop to the low -50celsius(-58F) Funny thing no one ever tests their GHB and it's contents?? Being familiar with you gear is the difference maker

Just something I picked up. After 2 hours the space blanket will get you soaked. So in a cold climate you eventually go into hypothermia and croak. I also picked up that in Sweden the Government might outlaw this product because of it’s misrepresentation ie it is not a blanket. The Swedish army has eliminated it. Anyway this pack is small and is enteresting since I am building my get home back as I write. Tks
