Product Sourcing:
When it comes to sourcing a product for review, I will usually either purchase and item personally or reach out to a supplier requesting a sample for review. Many suppliers are supportive if they are confident in their product, appreciating the value of greater exposure.
Any sponsored videos (paid for reviews) are clearly stated as such so there can be no misunderstanding.
Sometimes a supplier will provide a link to the product or the supplier which I am happy to include in the description. Sometimes I will be provided with an affiliate link so I can earn a commission on sales and this helps to support channel costs but never at the expense of an honest review. There is no cost to you and in some cases discounts can be obtained via the link or via an included code.
If a product I have reviewed is available from Amazon I will often include an Amazon link in the description. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. If you purchase a product or service with the links that I provide I may receive a small commission. There is no additional charge to you.
Please consider subscribing and being notified to keep up to date with new video releases.
Thank you for supporting the channel.

Hey Jon - I'm a 67 yo female in the US and have been watching your videos for a while. You already gave me the idea to put a kit like this together. I watched other videos to find out the best tools so that I have what I need when I need it. Many of the tools are the same ones that you selected. I have other kits for different things but has been so helpful.

What I like about your videos in particular is how naturally descriptive you are compared with other KZbinrs. As a blind person I rely on description so that I know what the presenter is talking about; and your natural, conversational way of doing it is an example to most others whom I have found appallingly lazy and lacking in that department. For me, this makes your presentations not only helpful but easy to listen to.

Just a quick word of advice on the voltage detector. Never rely on the battery level indicator. Test it on something you know is live then use it to check the thing you're working on. Once it shows that the thing is dead, go back to your known source and confirm the detector still works. I teach apprentices and we drum this into them. TEST-USE-TEST 😁

I hope you don’t teach apprentice’s that, you should never use a non contact detector to prove dead. Test-use-test is standard but it should be with an approved voltage indicator (VAT in Europe) and ideally a proving box.

@@hotdeal3156 they use them as an additional layer of safety. Isolate-volt stick on the case-locate the electrical connections-approved tester on the electrical connections. But to Jon's point it's certainly better than nothing for a quick DIY job.

Nail set/punch to remove door pins. 5n1 painters tool would be advised for scraping, spreading fillers and prying things into and out of place, chiselling or even digging. Cyanoacrylate superglue a couple feet of strong fine wire. A bubble Level. You have room for all of these items.

As a proud Brit now living in the states, I look forward to your videos each week as a a dose of home as well as gadget glory - thanks for this one Jon, been wanting one like this for a while. I have the saw handle kit and it is awesome, and so surprisingly cheap to find. I would include: -Hand drill with space in handle for drill bits (I can get 3-4 in mine, depending on size. -EDC fans utility knife, which comes with a saw blade and a good size multitool style blade on the side that swing out, as well as a double ended, ball joint 1/4 inch screwdriver head for about $15, - Klein tools awesome screw driver socket sets that have bits in the handle, telescoping driver length and reversible colour coded sockets that slide over the screwdriver blade. Available in stubby (with 2 reversible socket heads(3/8 +11/32 & 5/16 +1/4) and 6 bits in the handle, or full size with and extra reversible socket head (1/2 +7/16) and 12 bits in the handle - they’re a much cheaper option to the Wera set

Great mix of tools in the kit. One thing I always feel like us Americans take for granted is the level of freedom we enjoy that we don't e even think about. Specifically how it's legal to carry a knife in most places of the USA. Its crazy that the blade on a multi tool leatherman can get you in trouble. There are cities which have laws which prohibit the carrying of certain types of knives, but generally speaking youbwont be going to jail for simply carrying a utility knife that you use at work and forgot you have it in your pocket or something. In CA, fix blade knives can be open carried legally as long as you have it exposed and carried in a certain way. I saw a prank video of a lad who took out a switch blade in front of some cops somewhere in England in a subway station and he got tackled to the ground by the two police that was near him. Ends up it was a switch blade comb and he caught a swift lecturing from the leos. The tolerance for even knives is paper thin by the Leo's. Seeing that makes me appreciate the freedoms we have in the USA 🇺🇸.

Add to set. A small cordless screwdriver and hexagon drill bits for it. A soldering iron or a lighter at least. And fill up the free space with hardware. A little wire... Sanding paper. Replace the fluke with a Mini multimeter.

Such a well thought out kit. I’ll be updating mine after watching this. Four more things I keep in my kit: 1. 20’ roll of Forj: Thermoplastic tape (for temporarily repairing broken odd shaped items) 2. Surgical alligator forceps 5"-6" (bc I always drop small screws into tight spaces) 3. Broken screw extractor set (for kits with a cordless drill/driver) 4. 4140 Pry Bar Removal Tool (it’s for interior car panel removal, but has been a life saver for me so many times).

Fantastic kit. For fun, I've been putting together what I call the "Bilbo Baggins Burgle Bag," which includes all sorts of tools needed for minor repairs and for potentially getting into and out of things (no criminality intended, of course). It includes many of the same tools (or analogous), with the addition of a few things like a small lockpick kit, a silcock key, a "janitor" key (for accessing stall doors and soap, toilet paper, and paper towel dispensers), a handcuff key, an Allen key set, and a few other bits and bobs. You have some great suggestions here that I will definitely be adding to the kit. Cheers!

Another great video that I watch for ideas. When visiting my mother, I used to take my crammed Stanley cantilever toolbox weighing in at around 40 lbs, from which I can carry out most DIY jobs that don’t need specialist tools, but far too heavy to lug about into and out of my car, so I put together a comprehensive tool kit which is my go to quick grab bag which I take with me in case it’s needed when visiting family or away for a weekend, using a Maxpedition Beefy. Kitted out it weighs around 3 lbs, and additionally to the array of tools inside, I carry a pair of gloves kept in place by the Molle straps on the back.

Very nice kit. I put together something similar with many of the same tools using a Veto ProPac bag. Very handy to drag around depending on what I am planning to work on, I may swap a few things out (like if I plan on installing outlets I'd add wire strippers, connectors, a plug tester, and a real voltage tester). Only drawback to a kit this great is cost- When I look at what I've put into this kit I realize it gets expensive really quickly especially if you add Wera, Knipex, Fluke and Gedore tools....of course, these tools are actually a pleasure to have in my hand so it's worth it to me personally.

Informative and enjoyable video as always. Fantastic choice for a tool bag. Over time we all have a tendancy to add stuff. I see there is still some room inside the main compartment. Adding tools, bits and pieces, etc is not an issue if you stick with that bag. As the size of the kit can't outgrow it's purpose. When you run out of space re-evaluate it's contents. Your garage probably has the "big" tools you can grab for specific jobs, when this kit won't cut it.

Great video! While I don't think I have any exact kit as yours, as you get pretty much in the details that are not relevant for me, I do have some kits inspired by yours and I have bought some products from your links as I have never knew I needed them before. From the producst I have found from your videos, I think the RovyVon A8 Gen4 is my favorite. I also have the A28 but the size of the A8 is just impressive. Thank you for your videos and I am wishing you all the best.

Thanks for the feedback which is great to hear - the A8 is a brilliant light I still carry one or the A4 Ti Pro (just for looks) and wouldn't be without.

This is such a brilliant video Jon, and it's like looking into a mirror. I recently purchased the Wera Tool Check Plus, a superb addition to my grab-and-go tool kit. It is clever and lightweight design sold me immediately! I also have the Knipex Water Pump Pliers, Plier Wrench and Super Snips, but those Bolt Cutters are now on my list! I'll vouch for those Miller Scissors. I've had them for some time, and they are much better than the Klein Scissors. All my gear is snuggly held inside an Aer Slim Pouch X-Pac I picked up in the USA last year. I do like that Metmo Pocket Driver... I feel my wallet getting lighter as I type this!

Nice bag for sure - perhaps a bit too deep for the length and width of the kit but the "pile" of tools is not unmanageable. I have a backpack made by Dewalt that is super thin, opens up completely to lay flat so you end up with access to 2 sets of pockets on each side of different sizes and types. It allows me to carry full size tools including a full size hammer. I really do like the tray that comes with the bag, I have a couple magnetic trays in my box but this looks like a great option or addition. Also I noticed that the Letherman Adapt tool bag - it sure looks very nice for sure - but - I can't help but notice it looks exactly like a lunchbox that I have that I have been using to keep some electronic components in. I got it for about $15 and the Leatherman is $69 so that is a tough one to swallow. I am sure the Leatherman material would be more durable but I have been using this lunchbox for several years and for my application it has held up great. However - I will say that to get a kit like this it can often be worth a little extra. Buy once, cry once is not quite the right saying here, but it is in the right spirit as it is sometimes better to look at the long term value of the items you are buying than the individual purchase price. In the end an extra $50 can be made up - I can skip a few lunches, etc... Also I have been wanting to get one of those Whia toolsets but they are a bit expensive (about $80 last time I checked) but they do hold a good 80% or more of any bits or sockets you commonly need - as long as you only need SAE or metric! And that Toolan brand saw handle that you showed - that thing looks brilliant! Got to get one. I have a folding saw but it only takes it's own blades. That and the Miller scissors - I followed your link and I will be buying each of these items. That and I might also consider the Hoto screwdriver. Thanks! Great video - nice example of a well done portable toolset. I am watching videos like this because I am working on a tool organization project for work and I want to do it great - professional, clean, organized, safe, durable, etc... Cheers!

Great video with a lot of good tools I consider for my own kit. And answering your question for additional tools, here are three from mine which I haven't seen in yours: A small level, some wire and a laser measuring tool for when you need more than three meters.

Excellent kit Jon. The only suggestion I could think of is a few bandages to go along with the wet wipes.
