Actually, as much as I enjoyed this project it's, from an engineering standpoint, highly inefficient. It would be far more efficient to just live within city/town range and enjoy the centuries of refined technology that would deliver you nice cheap/clean power! This is a nasty amount of labor and resources for a small pay-off (views and a handful of very dim LED lights). Leave Mother nature alone as often as you can, and don't exploit her, lest she be a whore to "humanity".

I love when people create their own solutions. I assume by the use of the 'toy' powerlines that this is just a for fun project, but one thing others should know is that if this was a river and not a pond then this 'dam' would likely collapse due to the water eroding the foundation and on the first storm without any overflow this thing would get destroyed completely by the exesss flow. Still a cool project, but I had to point that out for people that may be inspired to do something similar but with a more serious implementation. Thank you for sharing!!

If you truly believe that then you've never done any masonry.. And I can tell you from an engineering standpoint that that thing will collapse.. Only a matter of time since it's tied into absolutely nothing. It's basically built to fail but he'll learn and do a job better next time. Also all the electrical components are unprotected.. And becoming soaked with water. How long do you think those will last? I also only saw two half inch lines feeding that pool, which basically means the entire thing is a showpiece, two half inch lines cannot feed that basin quickly enough to keep up with the output.. But it did make for an interesting video.

Very very impressive, but how do you keep a steady supply of water when your reservoir runs dry ? Wouldn't you be better off tapping the energy from a fast moving stream, or be downhill from a river, or lake, where you could tap into the water supply ? Basically you've built a mini hydro damn, that works on the same principle, but modern hydro dams where I live are built on fast moving rivers, with very high river banks. Your very creative. I'd like to see if you could tap the energy from the water of a fast flowing stream or waterfall, where there's an endless supply of fast moving water.

JESUS LOVES YOU! And who is Jesus? Jesus is the Son of God. And God sent His Son into the world, Jesus did not come to condemn the world, but to save it. Only Jesus can give us salvation. Jesus was born, grew up, healed people, taught and forgave sins. One day they hurt and killed Him. But on the third day He rose and went to heaven, He is with God, He is alive! One day Jesus will return to seek those who have accepted him into their hearts. Now God says: receive, believe in Him, put your trust and faith in Him, I will forgive your sins, and guarantee you Eternal Life in Heaven, all this is yours and for free. All you have to do is receive! Jesus wants to save you! He loves you! Ask forgiveness for his sins, for He is Faithful and Just to forgive sins. Salvation is a free gift, and you need to receive, believe in Jesus and that He is the Son of God God bless you!

Ingenious Idea! I love the way you can control the flow rate to gain maximum voltage output. A Gear could even be added later to turn a larger wheel. Often just like a car, you start off in a lower gear until, you get enough speed to change gears. Its too hard to change gears until enough speed gets created to start turning it. But once, you can then there will be even more top end.

Ideally you would have to change the rotor type to collect 100% of the force of the water, as you mentioned use a gear box or belt with two different sized wheels, individual turbines for each water exit point to lower the torque requirements ,a flywheel for excess energy and single direction force application parts like on a bike to not hinder the system when no energy is being produced from either the single turbine compared to the flywheel or multiple turbines. This is as shown obviously a science project style construction or at best a gravity battery but if someone does try to implement this into a river or irrigation system I would also suggest at least one of the dams have a self activating system that can handle all of the potential input or you will have flooding. Self activating being either with a floater and a top down opening system or sensors to open a system with motors like he has it. Redundancy is king so probably both in case a sensors dies on you or the floater gets blocked.

It's always awesome to have property with natural waterways and hydroelectric potential. Five stars for the decorative pond, I love miniatures. Problem with these humid environments is rust and maintenance, t won't be cost effective in the long run if the motor needs to be replaced often due to rust, maintenance is needed if the pipes get clogged from vegetation, and if the metal axles grind out like my pond pump once did.

I love people who look up stuff in the internet and think they know everything! No one cares how much you think you know! I’m pretty sure this wasn’t a scheme to make money or provide power to millions, just something he wanted to do, so again, the more you try to show people how “smart” you are, the more we realize how much of an idiot you are!

@@user-tz6rk4dy5s , huh? If someone shared their thoughts and experience with me about my hobby I'd usually feel welcome. I had a pond that looks great in the beginning, but then all the work clearing the drains and pumps after it starts to wear out really became a hassle; just sharing my experience. If you want to go after smart alecs who thinks they know everything, feel free to give advice to the anti-vaxxers and trucker carlson. I happen to think this project is satisfying to see. Loved the enthusiasm here! Just a word to those who query, this is an inefficient example of how energy is produced from moving water. a good way to get out of the trend of having a electric company, maybe building a small tunnel river to cycle back around to power a house, with a electric power build up back that saves power.
