Hi from Scotland, Todderbert. One of these excellent Flashlights was given to me around 25 years ago. It still looks and operates like it was new. Its a good example of the high quality products that your country and mine used to manufacture and export. Today, both of our countries are great at exporting jobs....

Those are manufactured nearby (by Southern CA standards....25 miles or so) and are beautifully crafted devices, backed by amazing customer service.
My dads 4 dcell maglite still works and feels like new and it is a little over 30 years old and been using it in every power outage and maglites are still made with just mechanical parts that won't quit that will always outlast the electronic parts in other flashlights of today

Love mine, and in late 2023, they have even a better emitter !

I always was partial to the old school maglites. My units all have O rings so they are very water resistant. I purchased glass lenses for them. I also put clear packing tape on the lenses to eliminate scratches.

I like this video because the product (Flashlight) is “Made in USA”! Regards!

i bought my AA incandescent in 1999 & still working solid. Im planning to get upgrade kit to led as the incandescent bulb hard to find and one only a spare bulb left in tailcap.

You might try Hixon AA 1.5 vdc Li-Ion rechargables. They won't work in radios (wipes out MW/SW). They claim that they will run at 1.5 volts for nearly all of the charge. I haven't tried them in my Mini Mag LED AA yet, but will soon.

I forgot this. My annual maintenance is using cotton swabs and isopropyl alcohol to clean all of the inner and outer threads. Then to lube, I use cotton swabs and Marvel Mystery oil. Petroleum jelly would make too much of a mess. One more tip. The plastic lens gets trashed in no time flat, so I've replaced all the lenses with good quality glass. Not cheap but well worth it.

Maglite has a „new“ Solitaire version, 47 lumens but better Output. And the Maglite Xl 50/200 are also really nice lights. :)

nice, I notice they change these models rather often.

Why don't they (i.e. LED) work with NiMH AA rechargeable type batteries ? 🤔😕🤕😒
@MusicalHifi54 Жыл бұрын
Mine work just fine with EBL rechargeable batteries. Not sure why everyone has issues 🤔

@@MusicalHifi54 Yeah I figured out that a couple of days later since that post. I just had to recharge them in another charger. 🙄😏

I had the AA incandescent and the D incandescent. Light was terrible low. But they were rock solid. I still have both somewhere. I like the retro lol of the LED. But that Archer goes for about $100 Canadian. Which is a bit much. Lol

Does anyone make a push button end cap for the double AAA maglite and the single AAA maglite. Their smaller size is ideal.

Hej Todderbert thanks for the video very interesting flashlight I must say like the brand had an old big maglite flashlight in the 90's. But there have been very good smaller flashlights lately, flashlights that shine very well. And I am looking for a good one like this one small and does not take up much space. It is very interesting when you test flashlights of various kinds and brands take care and have a nice weekend.
@markpinther92964 жыл бұрын
Are they still even making flashlights? 127 lumens! ! hahaha MAGLITE was IT for SO LONG.... but they got dusted by their competition.
@peterkin10103 жыл бұрын
They're most certainly still going albeit with an LED range as opposed to the incandescent.

I’m going to beg to differ regarding the price. You’re saying the mini mag is $15? It’s on Amazon now for $30. I see this video was made 10 months ago but I don’t think this light has been $15 for many years. I see what you’re saying about the pro plus only having 2.25 hours on high but it does have a low mode for 24 hours which is pretty good. Honestly, over time I’ve noticed that the rare times I need a flashlight I only need it for a few minutes which sometimes changes my view about long run times. If needed for work regularly that’s a totally different concern.

It was an outgoing model, I did buy it last year for that price...now everything is becoming inflated.
