Oh thank you! It is very cozy and got it at a thrift store years ago! funny how some items wash and wear for years and others not so good. Love Carolyn ps these days always looking for 100% cotton, getting harder to find! So comfortable! Love Carolyn

Hello, Carolyn! Nice to see you and your plants with so many beautiful blooms! Wow! Love your “reading” story! 😂 You’ve come a long way, baby…..if your teachers could see you now! Always fun to see the creative ways you grow and display your orchids. There has been a lot going on in our family, so I’ve been neglecting my orchids a bit - but they still seem happy - just like your dendrobium! Thanks for a bright spot in my day. Please take care of yourself!

Hi Maryanne LOL Thanks LOL Definitely a bump in the learning road, but everyone is different and learns differently and enjoys different parts of life and learning. Love hearing from you, and sometimes orchids are work but worth the joy when the ouse is full of flowers when I am busy or under the weather, I do a quick just water watering and they still are happy, most of the time it is an easier hobby than many others, and even though expensive to buy they reward us for so long. Just saw Robin on garden fence Spring is coming! See you soon, doing a video experiment, alwready have orchid and some other fun things. Love Carolyn

I laughed at your reading trick, it reminded me of my own trick as a little girl in elementary school. For music class we all had to get our parents to buy a ukulele for us. Our music teacher who was a man, well half way through the year he gave us all a sheet of music with the notes to practice, then one at a time we had to go into a separate room with him and play the song on the ukulele. I was so nervous it wasn’t even funny because I didn’t know how to read notes (I still don’t) lol. The only thing that saved me is that I new the song. Thank goodness I came from a musical family. Well I sat on a chair and played and sang the song , I was watching the words only. He was so impressed at how well I did that he gave me an A in music class lmao. I still have my ukulele and sometimes I strum it for fun. I also have have 2 guitars and 2 autoharps that I surely do enjoy playing, I still play by ear lol.

Loved to hear this comment. When I retired (I love music) Easy Play is my way when I retired, wanted to learn but could not afford lessons, and I can play songs I know way easier, but my ear never developed for music! I often play and it is so relaxing. Thanks for your story, I could just picture that happening, and had a good laugh Thanks for that Love Carolyn

Agree Carolyn. Thanks for your very nice response. Just had to look back & review on this video again today that you filmed on my birthday, Feb. 27th. Loved seeing your beautiful orchids...leaves so shiny; and, the beautiful snow from your window.. We get some snow in NC, but not as often as you do. When it snows here, we get so excited!😊😊 Love, Barbara

You have some very good ideas with your plants and I do exactly the same as what you do. Your weather is similar to mine but maybe not quite his cold but there we go. I live in Warwickshire in the Cotswold but last few days we’ve had a lot of rain. Put my plant do well on the windowsill. Thanks for the lovely video and seeing your lovely face.❤❤😊😊

Hi Caroline, you look smashing in your chick attire. Love your funny grade 1 story, you’re so funny with your cute sense of humour. Love the tiny orchids too. I have a similar set up like those pots in coco yarn. I used an old vegetable basket on sale from Michael’s craft. I learned to repurpose as inspired by you. Btw, those pots you have are found in most garden stores plenty in here, I mean possibly in all of BC. They sell for $15, some though come with hanging hooks. Take care.Thanks for sharing!

Hello Carolyn, we had a 4 day power outage due to a ice storm here in Michigan. I was terrified for my orchids but moved them to they living room with my 96 year old mother. Thank GOD they survived even without a generator.
@jacolynsorchids1361948friends Жыл бұрын
That must have been a long 4 days! Always worry about long outages during winter. We have a natural gas fireplace downstairs and upstairs, and small amounts of heat do come out when power is out (no fan) Glad you are all safe and warm now! I Love that we both have our Mom's with us and the Love of God in our Home Carolyn

We must be in the same area. I experienced the same outage. No power from early Thursday to late Sunday. I don’t have the advantage of a warm location at home. I resorted to packing up all of my orchids and moving them to my brother’s office not too far from home. I brought them back this afternoon and so far things look good. I may lose some blooms but the plants will survive. I hope that all of your plants have survived without any damage.

@@rubiespaperpieces3140 Hope all is well now but, the energy company is crediting accounts for loss power. Check and see if you qualify. Sadly they won't cover for food and medicine lost during the outage. There are still people without power going on day 6....SMH

Oh what precious memories with your brother. And I love the little book. This is a great video about the variety of pots and things to consider with the differences. I think that is where I have failed. More than once I only looked at the holes in the sides and didn't realize it wasn't draining well from the bottom - that had a bad ending. It took seeing you point those type pots out on your video for me to really figure out what happened. All the orchids are looking fabulous! Can't wait to see that miraculous dendrobium!!! And 'wow' at your winter wonderland! It's beautiful to see but I am glad we don't have it. Hope you are feeling well. Take care of yourself.
