Mini One, Cooper & S, Generation 1 & 2 - 2001 to 2014 Handbrake Cable Replacement & Adjustment

Hi guys, thanks for stopping by this video and welcome to the channel!
In this video I will be carrying out a replacement of both handbrake cables on my son's R50 Mini Cooper. Although this is an R50 Cooper model, the process is identical across all Gen 1 and Gen 2 Mini models between 2001 and 2014.
In addition to the replacement, I will also be adjusting them correctly so that they operate as efficiently as they should and this will allow it to pass it anticipated MOT test that is due in only a matter of weeks.

I ordered 2 cables for one of our Minis and plan to do this in a few weeks. Right now I am changing a clutch on our 2003 Cooper S. for the first time. I also like the idea of the R56 rear suspension arms even though we don't have the rust issues here in Chesterfield, Virginia, USA than you have over there. Love your videos, add one more Sub!

nice, concise video, just thinking a peice of string drawn thru by old cable coming out cud be used to draw new cables in along same path, same as BT engineers do fibre and phone cable drawing thru pipes. ;) you'd only need access at each end not the entire path, (some other guy removed exhausrt and heat shield) :|

Good job. Isn't there also an adjustment to be made on the brake caliper? In my case the cables seem good but the left caliper brakes little.
