Great video just used to check before doing mine. But something I got years ago and have used to do many brake pads (mainly fronts) is a C clamp from the pound shop, winds in the piston no problem

Thanks. Some pistons you can push in by levering with a long screwdriver or squashing with a G clamp, but these mini rear pistons you actually need to wind in by rotating, hence the tool.

@@comeinhandynow yes I found that out today. Ended up just paying extra 40 for shop fit while they were doing tyres. That's weird I'm sure the front dont need tool

Mintex for better braking? Borg and Beck are far better quality and don't have anywhere near as much brake dust. I'd sooner pay the extra 5 quid as tget have been in 3yr on my r55. Previous owner had cheaper pads and discs done 5 times in 3yr. She only did about 20k miles in that time too

Yep, in my experience of various makes Mintex were better. Particularly the semi race compounds that you can get custom made too.

@@comeinhandynow I'm ex motor trade so definitely not your normal girl. Petrol head and do know an awful lot. I'm definitely mature driver and ride motorbikes so not normal haha. They dont make custom pads either.

@@Loonybikerbitch Lol. Have you heard of the Mintex M1144 or M1155 compunds? Fast road and Race compounds. They definately improve braking performance over standard pads. I have had pads made with these many years ago to improve braking.

@@comeinhandynow but not custom pads. Just performance ones 🙄

@@Loonybikerbitch When I ordered them the supplier said they would have to be made up in the compound that I wanted. A few years ago now. It was for a Triumph stag (1970s car) so not your ordinary mass market product. Also did the same on a ‘96 Discovery1. Made a big improvement to braking performance as they were more aggressive. Made more dust of course but that’s the trade off.
