Changed motors, it kind of worked. But first time when i assambled the door, it closed and opened fine, however even when locked with alarm, i could open it from outside, and alarm came on. Took apart, put it back together. Still the same, but now even opening without lockin is not exactly working. What i am doing wrong? Only thing that i changed is position of sprockets and svivels inside the lock. But does it matter, doesnt it take its position anyway? 😢
@comeinhandynowКүн бұрын
Too hard to diagnose via text. I suggest comparing every part position to any initial pictures or to the video to make it look exactly the same.

Great video. Any tips on making 'bubble' / ISO flares as you often get on european cars? Some people say to just stop once you have the bubble on the double flaring tool like yours,, some say you need a special ISO flaring tool to get the correct shape bubble
@comeinhandynow5 күн бұрын
The ones I’ve made were in copper so when you tighten the joint any slight shape differences flatten out as the copper is squashed slightly.

Does this type of issue like stuck injector needle or a clogged sprayer cause black smoke and high fuel consumption ? I tested the turbo, intake sensors, turbo all seems good. Thank you in advance 🤝
@comeinhandynow6 күн бұрын
If the injectors were leaking extra diesel into the engine then that would cause black smoke I believe.

As over heating of the engine is a major risk for head gasket failure then yes this mod would lower the risk, in my opinion.

Yes pretty much. Track the wire from the sensor to any point where you can split it and test it. California is lovely but I am only starting to get over jet lag! ;) The videos are there to help people do DIY.

I try to but been away a bit recently. Haynes do workshop manuals. Check ebay etc. They do one for the freelander but not the V6 engined one sadly. However there is a Haynes manual for the MG ZS 180 which has the same engine so that is useful. Also if you search the internet hard enough you will find free pdf manuals or ISO/CD manuals from Landrover which are very good. Some forums will probably list them.

If cleaned out properly and the oil channels in the head are clear then yes it will fix them usually.

My car drives on LPG. It's a factory built system, and sadly the gas regulator uses a highly proprietary linear actuator (basically a linear stepper motor) to regulate the gas. This means it cannot be acquired new anymore, and these actuators tend to fry their electronics, making the system useless. It's a necam mega distributor with a Volvo proprietary stepper motor based linear actuator on top, nasty how they designed it in such a way to make them the most money, rendering the systems useless once they deem the hardware deprecated (which they did).
@comeinhandynow12 күн бұрын
LPG is a bit of an extra pain for maintenance. I don’t think I would bother with it again.

Got to agree on the steering lock that was on a lot of BMWs of that age. Poor engineering fixing a problem that didn’t need fixing, just like their stupid indicator stalks that don’t stay up/down like sensible cars.

Thanks for this video and happy new year. I’m having issues with my 2001 2.5 V6 Freelander. After using it for a 15’ run and stop the engine, then it was impossible to start the engine. Maybe the pmh sensor? Can you tell me where is it located so I could check it / change it ? Is it on the left side or right side of the engine…? Thank you for answering and sorry for my English. Cheers from Paris. Xavier
@comeinhandynow20 күн бұрын
Happy new year. It sounds very much like the camshaft sensor is failing when hot (on top of the engine, remove engine cover to see it). Could also be the crank sensor at the front of the engine, accessed from underneath. See one of my very recent videos about a great gadget to diagnose this fully on my channel.

You saved me $550 in Texas today! I bought my 2021 Nissan secondhand and was only given one fob, not realizing the emergency key inside was never cut. I washed my fob!! 36 hours of rice (with parts separated) didnt work, even though the red light inside went on for button pressing. I tried the wd40 & toothbrush today, THANKS TO YOU. It didn't work until about 20 minutes later. It doesnt work like normal (yet) but: •I can now get into the trunk by holding it nearby and pressing the trunk release. • Doors open if I hold the defective fob nearby, press the request button on the door handle, WAIT a second, then open! • The ignition start button works!!!
