Wow. We are getting to this point in modern culture where people can now start making their own robotic arms. This is awesome! Fantastic job with putting it all together, and with this tutorial!

I am thinking of a few things: 1) Use ESP Now and send signals between two ESP32s instead of arduino nanos. One would contain the 4 potentiometers while the other remotely controls the arms. 2) Create multiple save presets. 3) Use OpenCR to recognize and move according to one of the presets stored. In terms of the already existing code that you've made, how would you rank the above 3 in the order of complexity?

Yes! My version has 3 save slots and sensors. PolyWantsACracker on my channel.

I am working with some high school students to build this project. I like the fact that we still have to figure a few things out. This turns it from a kit to a learning experience. I am wondering if others caught the error in the circuit diagram? The ground wire (black) that connects the two side reails on the breadboard is shown being connected to VCC. I am assuming that the connection is correct on the PCB.
@francisgariepy2 ай бұрын
Please note, this assembly is not quite documented and you have to check pictures and play/pause the video A LOT to try figuring which part goes where. You also need to cut (in half) the horns of all servos to make them fit (it means they cannot be reused afterwards...). I don't know which servo motors you really used but all those on Amazon, Ebay and AliExpress have different mounting holes for the horns (those two screws to mount the horn onto the part), be prepare to drill many times and mess your printed parts; even cut the mounting screws because the base (Eje Central) isn't thick enough and the screws are to long. I just gave up after I bought the 3d model (STL), ordered the PCB and printed all parts. Too bad, I thought this would be a simple project and fun but it ended up being more hassles than fun.

The arms can be controlled with the potentiometers, but unfortunately I can't create and call up the program. What could that be about? I used all the components like yours and downloaded the original sketch. I would be very grateful for an answer. Many greetings, Günther

This is a great video and info for building (subscribed!). The only issue is the one that plagues all of these devices... the servo motors are too weak, and stutter too much. I built a similar robot system several years ago, and was very disappointed in the motor's precision and performance (even though I got the 'best' ones at the time). If anyone has any more recent info on better motors that would work with this build, I would be very interested. I haven't looked at this in quite a while, and there could certainly be better motors available (i hope!). Thanks for any info.

Can anyone help me please. I have downloaded the code but i get this message. "Sketch uses 8018 bytes (24%) of program storage space. Maximum is 32256 bytes. Global variables use 1864 bytes (91%) of dynamic memory, leaving 184 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2048 bytes. Low memory available, stability problems may occur." When i send the code to the Nano it works but the arm jumps around violently juddering on all servos. TIA
