Scott, we use standard Rico tenor sax reeds, #1.5 hardness. You can easily find them on Amazon.

Hello Alex, wondering if synthetic reeds will work as well on this minisax ? (like Legere reed). I am interested by your minisax but I am afraid that the reed maintenance and moistering will be a hassle as beginner. I just want to pick it up and play a note here and there :-) I hope that synthetic reed will do the job... Thank you !

Nicolas, yes synthetic reeds will work fine. I just prefer the bamboo, but ultimately it is a matter of preference.

You would ideally need a large capsule microphone approximately 1-2ft away from the mini sax and plugged into an effect pedal in order to achieve this.

It depends on the use and maintenance. If you occasionally dip it in hydrogen peroxide it will last much longer.

This is a tenor mouthpiece/reed, #1.5 strength.

Ray Sims I am using a generic tenor saxophone mouthpiece. You can use better/more expensive ones if you’d like. I am not because I am trying to keep the mini sax affordable.
