When I saw how long this video was I said no way I'm watching it. But when my unit came and I tried to read the manual I realized it wouldn't be as simple as I had expected and decided to reconsider my stance on long videos. Your explanation was a huge help. Also, special thank you for the list of supplies.

You deserve every accolade you have received. I learned more in the last few minutes alone than in all the other hours of research on KZbin. I’m closing in on “geezer” status but your video and especially tool recommendations have given me the confidence to proceed. I have the Senville Leto 24,000 ordered and it should be here in 10 days or so. I, also, have oversized (never regretted doing so at any time in the past) so we will see. I am using your video solely for my install and will probably watch daily till my unit comes in. Thank you so much.

Thanks for this video. I learned a lot from it. I bought Mr. cool 1800 BTU advantage serious. When I ordered it I thought that this is the one that you do it yourself DIY. All the videos on KZbin is related to the DIY. Your video is the only one that I was able to find that gives you detailed info regarding the Advantage series. I did some mistakes initially as I connected the copper tubes before I pass in the wires through the wall conduit. After I saw your video I had to redo the whole thing again. I installed the inside unit and outside unit and I ordered the adapter that will connect the gauge to my outdoor unit and also I ordered the sealant I am impressed by the way that you’re able to Bury the line in the ground I wish that you live close by I will let you take care of this job and I will pay you for your work Just by watching this video I got the impression that you are a nice and sincere person who is eager to help others like me May God bless you and keep up with this great work

Everything was clear until minute 32 where you shut off the low side and you left the yellow line connected to the vacuum pump. if you did that, you have isolated the gauges from the system, of course the needle wont badge therefore the system isn't under test

Thanks for making this video. I bought a Senville unit just like yours. I had bought one before in my last place, when the units went under the name of Shinco and it was a great unit so I had no hesitance in buying this one. One problem that I wanted to share, and for which I found a solution... When you install the right angle drain under the 12,000 btu model compressor it extends down too far! If you place the unit on a flat slab floor, the feet will no longer touch the ground. You therefore have to raise the unit on some blocks or something of the sort. After hunting around with various options I came across a genial idea - In the plumbing aisle fo the local HD I found some 3" ABS Cleanout Plugs - for about $1.80 each. These make perfect raised feet! They are strong, and you can drill a hole thought them for mounting. I even cut the rubber shock mounts to shape and sandwiched them between the feet and the top of the plugs. The effect is to raise the compressor about 2" - perfect to accommodate the drain outlet under the unit! Cheers!

Great video, thanks! I had a Mitsubishi installed, which I later added a WIFI module to that connects to a dedicated electrical port. That allows me to control my unit remotely. I use this on a cabin and turn on the A/C before traveling up to there. My lineset is about 35 feet, which runs through an attic crawlspace then down to the soffit to get outside... not something I wanted to do myself. He had to solder the lines to get enough length. Anyway, I'm impressed and grateful for the video!

Pretty good video, just a couple things you might want to correct though. During your leak test you pulled the vacuum on the system and said if there is a leak you would use a soap solution on the joints to find out where its leaking. That would be true if you were pressurizing the system not putting a vacuum on the system - unless you have a way of looking inside the line for soap bubbles ;-). Also you said they use an inverter system to take AC power and change it to DC to run the system. Inverters take DC and change it to AC. I think you mean't they use a rectifier system to change the the AC to DC. I would recommend torquing the joints to the specified torque - I don't think most folks know how strong they are when it comes to tightening bolts and these fittings are brass. You can strip them easier than steel which is what most people are use to wrenching on. Other than that I think your video was very good and most people would have a successful install if they followed it. Good job.

Mini splits are much different than a traditional split system. You will need a vacuum pump gauges with low loss fittings, welding torch, nitrogen purge, you'll have to install an evap coil on the furnace and reconfigure plenum and ducts. Keep in mind your ducts will need larger capacity than may be installed if you have a heat only system, also ducts must be insulated to ensure no condensation on the bare metal. Welding you can also dmg components be sure to put wet rags on the piping to prevent heat getting to the sensing bulb on the indoor coil and the valves on the condenser failing to do so and overheating can cause bulb and valve failure. Releasing the refrigerant and working on the hoses can be very dangerous, handling this without proper license can result in 20k fines if you get caught, keep in mind you cant even buy refrigerant without it, most 410 condensers come with enough for 15 feet of lines anything over that will need more added. It really isnt a diy type of thing but if you have a mechanical background and dont value your time very much you can get it done. By the time you buy everything and factor in your wasted time you could spend making money doing whatever it Is you do. Anything can be done yourself just a question of how much you value your time and also do you actually think you can do a professional job from watching a few videos? I'd love to watch you attempt it. Let us know how it goes

Best Mini Split video hands down, I've watched too many to keep count. Wish you could have detailed more about the torque job, minus using a torque wrench, I'm installing mine as we speak or as I type, that is my only worry or concern in my install currently. Also, my only suggestion to anyone reading, ALWAYS run your refrigerant lines on the side that they are on, just add the 90 degree bend and run them directly out the hole you just drilled. DO NOT try to bring your refrigerant line in the hole, then connect and create a 90 degree .... I started that route and closed that whole up and went the simple route, i wasted 3 hours trying that direction and was left repairing a wall. Keep it simple

@@adamrspears1981 He may have misspoke but he didn't actually show or state that he looked for vacuum leaks by the soapy water test. I think most DIY people that attempt this level of project would realize he meant a bubble test for leaks once the system was pressurized. It is true that this unit requires professional install or it voids warranty but warranties with even professional installs are so difficult to claim and this unit carries a short warranty (longer on the compressor) with parts only so either way it's going to cost you plenty. I'm for anyone that can install one of these systems on their own with good self training and research.

I did it a couple weeks ago. If I can do it literally ANYONE can. I save eight thousand freaking dollars doing it myself. No lie!

Good job on the details These are very popular in Europe, They gain more popularity in US for smaller older homes as well as other garages or back units, way more efficient and doesn’t require gas line for heat
