Mini Squiggle Worm, Holsinger's Fly Shop

Here comes a video featuring what could easily become the next big controversial "fly". The Mini Squiggle Worm, should you choose to call it a fly, is a fish catcher. I've been using it a lot lately since it's re-release from Hareline. It just plain old catches fish. However, there is no "tying" involved in it. I almost hated to do a video on it, but I figured would show you how I put them together to make them last a little longer. If fishing a squirmy worm is not an issue for you then you have to try this version. It lasts longer in your box, has as much action in the water, catches just as many fish, and it's easier to tie.

Cool product Shawn, I don't have a problem with it. Fly, lure, flie or flure it catches fish. I have bags of micro twist tail grubs I bought at a sports show decades ago that work when I can get one threaded on a hook. Thanks for all the info. It’s all about having fun on the water, and I like catching fish. Some guys look down on these, but I have no problem fishing worms, mops, or other “junk flies”

These things are really working this time of year for me. I don’t have a problem fishing them especially when times are tough. But, there are times when I know I could catch fish on those but chose to fish other flies just to prove to myself I can fish different patterns and still catch fish.

The ONE reason people would also want to consider adding the thread behind the bead is just in case the worm comes off and you end-up losing your bead because of a bare hook.

I know ALOT of traditional anglers don't approve the squirmy wormy but I have a PT and pink squirmy 80% of the time I'm tightlining and catch loads of trout all year round

Have you tried it yet? It's been too cold for me to fish this month, but last month before Christmas I was crushing them on it. It really does feel like cheating. I might have to put a collar on it to make myself feel better about fishing it. LOL

I have been using the squiggle worm and masu worms on a size 16 hook with a pink bead. It is a very deadly for steelhead
