Located in Hamburg, Germany, the Largest model train set has a huge total length of 15,400 m (50,525 ft). To put that into perspective, the length of the train set is enough to get you to the top of Mount Everest - and 6,000 m back down the other side! Read more: bit.ly/GWR-Wunderland

Same. I visit about once a year, especially with friends and family. There's always something new and you always spot new tiny details and scenes you missed before.
My dad used to build the scenery like this in the 60's to 70. All for his h.o.scale trains and tracks. My oldest sister and I saw displays at the county fair and the work on them looked substandard next to my dad's displays. He was very meticulous down to working lights and doors in the buildings. His buildings were built with a solid cardboard surface covered by meticulously cut and placed wooden match sticks. Each piece was hand crafted from the tiniest painted wall to the rivers which were lightly painted mirrors embedded in the paper mache ground cover. The trees and bushes were authentic. The buildings were small towns and painted as businesses with wooden sidewalks. There were tunnels through paper mache mountains, tiny gravel roads and extremely miniature animals. He also built hand made bridges. He was very precise in everything that he did. He had other hobbies also including building and flying model planes and building and displaying model car kits. Those days and his displays have long passed with time. I never expected to see anything even close to his works of art in those displays. This one may have cost more but it's as close to his as I've ever seen and his were impeccable.

I can honestly say that model trains and railway type miniatures aren't really my thing. I'm really not a fan, but this, I have to say is really REALLY something special. The shear size and scale is breathtaking. The other thing I notice is just how happy this chap is, and that's a great thing. To see someone happy at their job is always good to see. So much so, he's got into the record books too. Good on you fella. Choo-choooooo!!
