Ahhhh!!! "Mess and mayhem" listed as one of the parts that needed to be built made me so happy. And it's so fun to see how our "outlines" are different (yours as a drawing and mine as scribbles in a google doc) but serve the same purpose!! The visualizing/imagining/brainstorming stage is so important. I am still so happy you named the competition (and ended up as the title for the story!) bahaha. It is infinitely better than anything I could have come up with and I always love a play on words. THE TAKE-OUT BUTTER CONTAINERS OMG. It's so cool seeing all the random resources you're able to us! I bet it's so fun to see how you walk around the world, imaging what different things might be used for miniatures! Also I love seeing how you were able to repurpose the stove kits and how that comment inspired so much!! :) (Plus shout-out to your sister for suggestion the squirrel; it's so fun we both relied on our family for bits and pieces of things! Bahaha.) I'm infinitely impressed by the amount of skill you have in so many different types of art. (Like the sketching?? But then the painting?? And the gluing?? AND the graphic design?? WHAT?!?!?!) This was beyond cool to me and I loved getting to experience this story in a new, very visual way. :) THANK YOU SO MUCH for reaching out to me, I had a freaking blast, and I'm sorry for leaving the longest comment ever bahaha. 💙

Haha.. mess and mayhem always for me!! It was so fun to see that you referenced the squirrel in your story... I remember emailing saying something like "sorry there's a random squirrel on the cake"😄! I think its so special to have a family that supports creative hobbies and jobs so I count us both as very lucky💖 So glad we were able to do this and let me know if you ever want to collab again!

To make icing with polymer clay, you can get some liquid clay from sculpey and you mix it with polymer clay bits. Usually just cut up your clay into little pieces and start to 'melt' it with the sculpey. It can be bagged up just like icing. It can also be used as a polymer clay glue.

Cake boards, which are cut to shape or precut forms are sometimes decorated with fondant, icing, buttercream or sometimes sturdy wrapping paper if foils are not used or if the form is not prefoiled/decorated. Cakes are put on them after baking and usually before major decorating. As far as creating a polymer clay 'icing'-- mixing powdered chalk or mica powders with liquid polymer clay would work well for that effect; Or using liquid polymer clay and painting it (after it is cured completely) with acrylics. It is neat stuff if you can use polymer clays (I cannot as I have allergies to the polyclays). Cute lil' cake show (^ _ ^)!

It is so adorable that you made all those sets of bake ware, had 3 ovens, wallpaper that you made, and designed those cakes. So cute and having taken cake decorating classes the things under the cakes are just called Cake Boards. And since they're disposable they are just cardboard with foil covering them. Silver or gold usually, you can get rolls of it, or pre-made sizes of board that is sort of a waxy surface with fake doily shapes on them. The way you actually made LAYERS for the cakes on the inside and didn't even slice out a piece for the Judges is pretty impressive. And I just adore the little icing bags for the frosting OMG how adorable and functional! The Squirrel is really cute. I probably only would have been able to think of the Food Pyramid for "Healthy" but they keep changing what that is. Another Masterpiece on every level.

How adorable😊 Will read the story, until watching your channel never really thought about putting on paper a story for my mini scenes. I have always had a story or theme in my head its just puting it on paper is difficult. I am not a writer. Love the colors you used, I am an 80s girl so I was into the pastels. When you mentioned the color salmon and pink together I had to laugh out loud because back in the day my dad‘s new work building was painted supposedly salmon but everybody called it pink! It was an argument that went on for many many years, it reminded me of my dad❤️ Thanks for sharing building techniques and cool stories. I always look forward to your videos.

You can color the liquid polymer clay with alcohol ink and use it in the baggie just like you did with the paint. If it’s too thin you can also put polymer clay in the liquid polymer clay and make it more of a frosting consistency.

Great tip! I haven't played around enough with changing the consistency of the clay yet and I am sure it helps a lot!
