Those bomb-throwing goblins look like they could easily be converted to spear/javelin users. Maybe give that a try? Also the standard-bearer could maybe be turned into a shaman of some sort...? The minis really do look nice!

yeah you could do some weapon/hand swaps to get more variety in the poses, the plastic is easy to work with and takes super glue easy, I enjoy that sort of thing lol

I would be able to make use of at least one of those bomb throwers, in my party we have a goblin alchemist that specializes in fire bombs.

Ok, it's time to admit that I have a problem... I have such a miniature mashup addiction, that I actually made something resembling a tween girl going "Squeeee!" when my phone alerted me to this vid's posting. It's just a testimony to what a fanboy I am for this channel. Congrats sir, now I need to find a 12 step program. Sigh.

I've got a large collection of about 95 goblins. Mostly MageKnight but also Reaper Bones and even some from EM4. A large collection that all have a different look. Easy to create some lore to go with the looks. I never ran into this brand of goblin but would have enjoyed them as well.

Nice review thanks. I make up sets of toy soldiers to give away to less well off folks, 1:32 for 3-7 and 1:72 for 7 and up. One young lady lusted after her brothers 'knights and knaves', so she got Amazons and Pirates battling Ratmen and Lizard men in the Moreau archipelago. I have armies of 50 each side so I ended up with some spares, think I'll get a box of Goblins and some cheap dragons and make up a fantasy set in case anyone wants one. As other have noted conversions are possible (I prefer no more than two figures in any one pose) and they could also be altered for a set of sci-fi aliens. Head swaps can be done, I started in the 1960s and we used to add a small metal pin to anchor the head (providing the figures were not polythene, which you just cannot glue at all). As I give my sets away (so I don't have to find room to store them) cost is a major factor and the 1:72 figures are by far the cheapest out there. These days firms such as Strelets have come on a lot with the quality of their sculpts. Anyway as I said thanks for the review. Dropped a sub.

I appreciate the sub, thank you. I will have to check out strelets.

I got a whole load of Ceasers after seeing your undead and dwarf videos, tiny bit miffed with the size of both (which you warned of but it still caught me off guard) but the Ceasers goblins are indeed perfect in scale for modern D&D.

To update from this two years ago: The caesar's undead set's skeletons are great for small sized race's remains. Great to have a mixture and mishmash of skeletons in your skeleton army.

These are great. There is also another manufacturer that does fantasy minis in the same scale and out of the same plastic in the same price range called Redbox Miniatures. Their Dark Alliance minis are all fantasy LOTR themed minis. The website that these are shown on in the video is Michigan Toy Soldier Company. They are about an hour away from me and I've been buying stuff of of them for years. I'd recommend that you look there first. They sell both the Caesar Miniatures in this video and the Redbox Dark Alliance minis.

you could do some easy mods, swap hands and weapons to get rid of the rocks and bombs and get more variety in the poses, but with that said the rock throwers could come in handy, the party could be climbing and getting pelted by the goblins lol

I don't care what weapons they have. I bought a GW goblin set where they are all in robes and holding spears for less than $20. There were 10 goblins and the paints to paint them. When I use them what ever weapon I want them to use I they have. The mini is only a place holder or token and does not have to match the npc. I try to match PC's when I can since they are going to be used for a long time but even then I only go so far. A player of mine has a dwarf that had his beard cut off and now it's short. The mini I used looks pretty good but it has a 2 handed axe and he uses a sword. But he does have a short beard so the trade off is fine.

I actually assumed the "bomb throwers" were using good old oil flasks, like molotov cocktails .. theve been in DnD since the 1970s, and although a weak weapon, (1d6 for a direct hit I think? but would burn a few turns) would illuminate the party for the other (darkness dwelling) archer goblins and whatnot Probably the low-level party is using torches, which makes things very simple for the oil throwers ;) The rock throwers tho .. would be much better with slings
@LordEvilmancer8 жыл бұрын
man I would kill to find a bucket of True Heroes Medieval or any non world war ceasars minatures
@markhill38584 жыл бұрын
Actually Ceasars also make great ranges of 100 years war mediaeval soldiers, english, french etc .. this was the "default" tech level in old DnD, so they are great for city watch, bandits etc .. just a TAD short :) which you could just say PCs should be a bit bigger than regular NPC douchbags lol the Dwarves and Elves dont suffer at all from slight shortness .. and a bit of hacking and glueing goes a long way to give weapon varietey .. they are so cheap, like supermarket army men, what do you have to lose if you fuck one up?
@JosephKeenanisme5 жыл бұрын
I got some of these and the undead ones before I even got turned on you. They are a tiny bit smaller then regular minis but at the same time not real bad... it's not like standing up an original 13in GI Joe next to a 3.75 in GI Joe.

@Corvus-fw2hr8 жыл бұрын
All of the pictures I found online were pretty encouraging. Again, they're ratmen, they can be smaller. Plus $15 with shipping is a heck of a lot cheaper than I could get skaven. Glad to see you made a new video, by the way.

Bomb throwers easily become spear throwing or even a couple with slings and rocks. As someone said the banner bearer one snip becomes a staff weilder. Dave's thoughts put them on washers???? Washers cost 5 cents thats 5 bases of those copper discs so I think no. Miss you Dave hope you get back to putting out some vids soon.

Whatabout converting the bombthrower into an archer. Just cut of the bomb and glue a cut down toothpick as a bow into the left hand.
@nightfire7344 жыл бұрын
GW has more expensive miniatures, but the quality really can't be beat. The latest stuff has great quality and customization. Sets like the spearmen come with swords or bows to be used. They also have great resell value if you end up not using them anymore. There is always a market for them also meaning you can get them cheap on eBay.

Just found your videos, really great. One question: have you tried converting the Caesar Miniature? And if you have how did it go?
@MiniatureMashUp7 жыл бұрын
Yes. Go to my review of Caesar's dwarfs and see for yourself. I took away a second weapon and added a shield. I would not try to head swap or add weapons though. They are too small for that.

I am very interested in the Cesar goblin miniatures. But please can anyone help how do they compare in size with the wiz kids goblins? $40-$60 is a lot to spend to find out they're useless to me. To the makers of this video or anyone else out there that has knowledge I'm asking please for someone to give me a hand and help me out of this. Any insight on size comparison would be appreciated? Thank you
