My schnauzer was the absolute smartest & best dog I ever had, in my 64 years of life, & I’ve had many(mostly boxers & bulldogs). I lost him on July 18 2022, & miss him every single day. His name was Sirius. He was a gift from Jesus. I’ll see him again soon…..🙏🏼

We had a female schnauzer for almost 12 years. She was incredible in terms of love, intelligence, kindness, health and energy. She was so kind with us, shared her time equally with every family member, she knew when we were sad and always wanted to stay near to most of the family were. She loved another animals, except for small preys and birds (who she always tried to catch haha). She was very smart, could learn many tricks, very playful, allowed us to take care of her health (teeth cleaning, taking pills etc) and also she was a very healthy and sturdy dog, loved to eat too. Unfortunately, even being healthy, she got breast cancer when 10 and it spreaded. She was able to survive 2 years with the cancer, got blind with 11 years, but died from erlichiosis two days before turning 12. She was a lady, as my grandma use to say, and also an guardian angel for all of us. I hope I can meet her again someday anywhere in the next plane…

Ours is almost 15 (been with us since 8 weeks old) and now he cannot hear or see much, takes only short walks and sleeps most of time. He's the best dog we ever had, smart and affectionate, a true friend and family member. Never been sick, just had his teeth removed a while back. I recommend them as best breed as companion, as long as he is pure breed they are very sturdy and healthy dogs.

Hope he is still doin well. We lost ours at 14 last month. He couldn’t hear or see much at all anymore. Slept only when he wasn’t eating or wanting to go out to pee. My wife and I don’t have kids so he was ours. His name was Bosco. Miss him every day.

That happened with our family Miniature Schnauzer. She lived for 15 yrs, she was very active until the end of her 14th year. Then slowed down suddenly by 15. She had trouble with seeing and hearing, had seizures at times, and didn’t move as much. Best dog we have ever had, its been hard to get another since. I miss her dearly.

I had always owned big dogs and never thought about owning a Schnauzer, and then by happy circumstances I found Milo! He is my rock! When my Husband passed and it was just me and him, he has gave me so much comfort and love. My husband used to say, He loves me, but he’s definitely your dog. Lol My mother calls him “his majesty Milo” because I spoil him all the time and he goes where I go and if he cant she “babysits” him while I work. I don’t know how I would have made it the last 2 1/2 years without him and I DREAD the day that I will have to find out. But when that day comes, I am sure that I will be getting another one of these wonderful dogs!!

I’ve had em since I was a kid! My latest...an all white one (not albino) just passed away a few weeks ago. 12 years and 7 months to the day. He was truly my buddy. We had a white male up until a couple of years ago, when he passed at 13. These dogs are almost human. Buster was sweet, playful, protective, and thought he was a lot bigger than he really was. He got in a vicious fight with a neighbor's yellow lab one day. He gave as good as he got. I just saw the tail-end of it, but my neighbor says he's glad Buster wasn't any bigger. they both ended up with minor injuries, nothing serious. Anyway, we got another mini-schnauzer, this time a black female. She's just a puppy, but we can already see her personality emerging. This will be challenging.....

Best dog who ever owned me. Our Java is amazing. She has the best temperament of any of my pets. Java has the run of our 14 acres, no leash required. In the evening, we can just slide our rechargeable head lamp over her neck and let her out to do her business. She comes to our back door and sits and waits to be let in. She never takes food other than her food. She going on 13 in a few months and we know how lucky we are with having her in our lives. We wish we could have her cloned. She is not the normal yippee miniature schnauzer. She is really the best pup for us.

My boy Pete is my little buddy. I got him registered as an Emotional Support Animal. I take him everywhere I can and if I have to leave him alone he gets pissed and let's me know it! I had three dogs and the oldest one passed away in July because of a leak, ( schnauzer ) it has been very hard for their siblings. Especially the pit bull ( the youngest ) which was pregnant at the time, she gave birth about a month ago Her sister, also a schnauzer the middle dog, was with him non stop for his last two days. Because the leak caused him to get paralyzed he couldn’t eat, walk, or go to the bathroom, so we thought it was poisoning We put him down. He never got a chance to see the babies, her cousin, or have his birthday. ( October 15) And so sorry for your loss

My mother is a professional dog breeder why specializes in Miniature Schnauzers. I grew up with them throughout my entire childhood, and I can say that these facts are accurate. When the puppies are at least 4 weeks old, they're a lot of fun to play with. I miss those days. I even got to name one of the puppies that my mum decided to keep. One time, said puppy was running around in tall grass and came out with prickles in the fur of its legs. So I named it "Bramble".

We lost our 12year old snhauzer a few days ago and my heart aches just thinking about him. He had the biggest and brightest personality. He has saved us a couple of times by alerting us people were breaking in to our house. He was so friendly and playful. When he played and he bit me he would always lick that one spot to say sorry and when I got home after school he would howl at me that sounded like 'hello' and if I didn't howl back, he jumped on me to get my attention and he always use to steal my red flease blanket and snuggle against it, therefore we got him his own but old habits die hard and he still did it. His name was Dexter and we grew up together. My parents got him for me when I was only three and I still love him dearly. I don't believe in God and I don't know what happens after a passing but I hope he's resting peacefully and happily because he deserves the world. In instances like these I would like to hope there was a heaven so we could meet up again one day.

We'd love to get another one, but we're have health issues and it would be too much to for us at this time to get another one. I have a 9 year old mini schnauzer. She was the runt of the litter so is a perfect size for traveling on airplanes. She is brilliant and very sensitive. Schnauzers seem to be prone to many things. Mine has had surgery for bladder stones. She also presents with very high bad cholesterol which my vet told me is also common in schnauzers. She eats very healthy. She is also prone to yeast. Despite these issues she is very playful and very affectionate. She has to be touching me during the night. She is trained to go to the bathroom on a puppy pad in the shower when I am not home or when we can’t get out due to bad weather. Her favorite toy is an empty toilet paper roll. She knows when it is near the end and barks at it until I give it to her. She prefers cold water from the fridge served in a glass. Just a little spoiled.

@@geom404 since I wrote that she had to have her spleen removed because of a large tumor growing on it. During that surgery she also had another bunch of bladder stones removed. She recovered nicely from the surgeries. I will be so happy if my girl makes it to 14. She’s 11 now.

I'm a breeder and I agree with most of what you said except for the barking all the time! I have never found them to bark anymore thank anybother breed. And I also don't find them stubborn, my are very intelligent and very trainable. And mind very well. And have never had one that's aggressive!

My little Schnauzer Teddy he is very brave, smart and sweet. He loves the windows down and rides on my shoulders driving down the road. He will also go over to the passenger side and he knows how to push the button and roll the window down. He gets his bluff in on all the other dogs and always ends up being leader of the pack. 🐕😂 When I come home with food he wants to barter and bring me a piece of his food and wants to trade for some of mine. 😂🐕

I am a privileged owner of a Schnauzer. His name is Charlie and he is 9 years old. He is very routine and loyal. He knows when I am done with my stomach crunches he gets to go for a walk so he starts barking. He loves to catch a ball. At the end of the day he gets one of his stuffed babies and circles around the room to let me know he is ready to relax. Sometimes he takes his baby outside. My schnauzer, shadow, of 13 has been with me and my family since we got him around 2007, and we took over taking care of him from my grandparents around 2014 or so. He is sadly fading in age, seeing as he is 13, but I will always love him. I’m hoping to in the near future to get a new schnauzer and name him shadow II to keep the legacy of the first shadow.

On my second schnauzer. The first one Buddy i got for my partents when they were in the mid sixties and he made their life a true joy for 17 years. The second one BJ is mine and is my best furry friend.

Shawn Houston I’m on my second one also. He will be 12 the end of the year. We rescued him when he was 8 months old. He is slowing down a bit but still loves his walks. Our last one didn’t make it to 13, died of cancer and had diabetes the last year of his life, I had to give him 2 shots a day. We rescued Austin 6 weeks later & he is very attached to me. But now that I’m in my senior years I won’t be getting another. 😢

I lost my little black schnauzer Isla last Friday and my salt n pepper boy Hamish died 7 years ago. They are indeed the best dogs ever. I’m missing my little girl so much she was so affectionate and slept with me every night in bed beside me.

Back in the 70,s we had a mini schnauzer. The best dog ever! We named her Cinder. Protective of me after some surgery's and always placing herself between me and boyfriends. One day she went crazy and we could not figure out why (this happened twice) once when the garage door was left open and a bike was stolen. The second time, someone was trying to steal the battery out of my brothers car. She just went crazy, so I let her out and she chased away the would be thief, Did not know that until my Brother found his battery unhooked.

Yea she is very weary of new people. She’s incredibly anxious and hates being separated by my other dog. She is very affectionate but also likes to hide and be alone a lot of te time. We never trained her anything besides: sit, no and go to your couch but she seems to understand. Also she gets very excited with my feet so idk what that is. The thing about TJE bark is 100% true thoigh

LOVE ours! We have 3. So. Much. Fun. Just, got a new little one. The 2 older ones are black. Zooey has a gray beard and some gray markings. Miss Emma is solid black with a brown tinge in her beads. The new kid, Addison is, more brown with some gray. Same parents. Different litters. All of them are super vocal. They want you to know they're around and in the job. Nobody gets in and out of the house without addressing them. If they know ya, it's all good. If not, there's a fair amount of hell to be raised until we reassure them that you're aight.
