The houses are just amazing and the paint on minis WD level One of the greatest assets human mercenaries have are the black powder weapons. So, for Sigmar's sake, give your captain a dueling pistol or two, and a marksman with a blundebuss is a great way to clear a house off vermins. Also, helmets are much better protection than 6+ armor save that light armor gives. A good tactic against skavens is to hold back a bit, and let your ranged weapons do the work for a couple first turns. If you head straight into close combat with them, they'll just swarm you.

Thanks! I appreciate the insight as we're still learning. We're really fresh, actually, and have no idea of weapon synergies, etc. Do you have any model recommendations for black powder style mercenaries? We try to play them WYSIWYG so that leads to some of our weapon choices.

@@MiniatureGameMontage Foundry has some nice historical miniatures that can pass as human mercenaries. Their Black Powder Skirmishers has a nice mix of long and short rifles that can be used as handguns and blunderbusses. Foundry's Thirty Years War Infantry Command has couple characters with pistols that are suitable as mercenary heroes

Yep. Helmet > shield, and always, always, take an offhand -- even a dagger -- to get that other attack.

@@Guts318 do I need to list the dagger on the card? I thought they all come with a free dagger but I have to switch to that equipment (sword and dagger)

Great to see the campaign continuing; seems like you really got the reins on the rules this time. Did you wind up using any house rules, or anything like that? In one-offs, or short campaigns, Skaven can be hard to beat. In longer campaigns, Dwarves become indestructible!

Thanks! No house rules. I want to be sure we both are comfortable with the base game and factions. I wouldn’t mind painting up another warband as well and trying them out.

I love the voice over intro and dynamic camera work. Thank you for showing the dice rolls too! I just found my original box set that my brother bought for me all thoses years ago. AND the Sisters of Sigmar warbands i bought and the ones that were gifted to me. Like 26 of them 😅. As well as 10 of the warhounds. They are cute little, stubby boys. Im still not sure how I ended up with so many! 😂 Keep up the amazing work on this, i really enjoy it! I cant wait to see the next one!

Another fantastic contribution! My one critique of this specific one is that I think you cut out a bit too much -- some of the video and the dice rolls/narration were out of sync, which made it a little harder to keep up with the game (especially for a noob who has really learned a lot from these two videos). But, otherwise, love the little improved details for Round Two and can't wait to see your next video in the series!! Here's hoping those Reiklanders can come back and crush the vermin!

@@MiniatureGameMontage Oh they are but skaven speed in combonation with good I and cheap models means they have movement advantage can dictate charges and attack first. There are very few warbands that can compete with that.

Your content is as usual excelent, models, terrain, camera work all of it, but this game...its so jarring to me to watch this thing beeing Team 1 go then team 2 follows. Woudnt this thing be so much better with the necromunda mechanic? Even the video game has a better mechanic then this, its a bummer. Awesome content tho

I think alternating activations could work in this game but it's just not designed that way. I'm finding it interesting regardless but I also play more for the story. 🙂

Are the same two guys going at it each time? I watched both Lotr batreps and after watching this one it seems like the guy you always have playing humans is strategically challenged... Can you warn him not to split his forces so much? especially when he always has fewer men... It's one of the first thing Sun Tzu warns you not to do In your Minas Tirith vs Morodor he's nearly outnumbered 2-1 but has his archers outside, around the building, on the other side of the statues, closest to the enemy which results in them only getting about 1 shot before retreating when he had a whole 2nd story floor to set them up in and a doorway with armored men to block the enterances Speaking of which, he waited until his men were all but dead before he decided to utilize the door way in the building in order to mitigate their overwhelming numbers. In this he splits his outnumbered forces into 3 flanks then 2 more flanks when he splits his archers when he's only fighting on 2 fronts. Then sends his lightly armored heros in first instead of any man with a shield to lead the way Just some very interesting mistakes on his part...

Yeah that’s me. My son was playing with the rats. I don’t really study Sun Tzu or war game strategy. We chat about the game and the moves for both sides. It’s just miniatures and dice and I try not to take it that seriously.

Other than their lackluster leadership, they're one of the better warbands to run in a campaign as it's relatively easy to have a full compliment of heroes in a starting warband (or you can look for rare items and gain more wyrdstone) and henchmen and giant rats are cheap (even better if your sorcerer can get Blessings of the Horned Rat for more rats). His loadout on the Black Skaven was interesting; our Skaven players opted for great weapons or halberds to take advantage of their strength. A Black Skaven with a flail coated with the +1S poison can pulp most stuff in the game (if they can hit)
