@@MiniatureHobbyist I haven’t seen these bases either but keen to know where you get them. Great board too my dude. Would love to see this played on (especially the home brew)
@NiteMarcher5 ай бұрын
For ease of storage. Try getting a thin sheet of metal from a hardware store. Magnetize the bottom of the floor tiles so you can stick them to the sheet of metal. When you’re done you can remove the floor tiles and put them in a box. The sheet of metal can be places elsewhere and can possibly be used for other games in which you magnetize the bases. I love the idea of makes larger size wall sizes and a wall storage

I've been a huge fan of HeroQuest since 1989. I still have my original board game! I would loooove to 3D print a board like this! What a Epic Project! Yours turned out stunning. The video game Demeo on VR reminds me so much of HeroQuest! Can you print these with a FDM printer instead of Resin from The Dragons Rest?

I play a variety of games that use card tiles. My first project is going to be Star Saga Core Set. I just need to go through my library of stls, and choose some tiles. From 2nd Dynasty, Dragons Rest, Project Mobius and others. And then convert the models to use clear bases.

“Just had an epiphany ! A great idea came to me. I’ll make a Magnetic tool, coloured Red at one end and Black at the other, with N / S orientated magnets at each end to fit my magnets to bases and tiles. No confusion.” Thanks so much for such a simple idea - it will save me digging out incorrectly fitted magnets - one of my pet hates, haven’t seen this method before, such a simple fix for a common problem, so easy to get them mixed up if you are putting in a lot atvatime (you should Patent one ?)
@dmorty624111 ай бұрын
The only suggestion I would have made is not epoxying down the tiles to the wood. Maybe making them magnetic to the wood instead? In several of the expansion packs for the boxed board, there are tiles that replace the look of some of the rooms that will no longer work for you since they are designed/sized for the board in the box. I saw you mention things like the rotating room, but it would look cleaner to be flush with the rest of the rooms, instead of sitting on top of your board.
@therealjonaswp6029 ай бұрын
For those grates, if you want a rusty look, I recommend Dirty Down Rust :) It is ....amazing. I am one of the lucky ones who has bought a FDM printer, and am printing the same board from Dragon's Rest. The tiles are amazing. :) Also, what color did you use for the slapchop of the tiles? :)

@kagerobellamy3273 ай бұрын

I Love the creativity ❤ and hope to find some inspiration here. I just have a very little thing to remark, which is absolutely not to be taken as criticism! But as a non-native English speaker I find it often hard to follow your train of thoughts. I struggle with filler words ("well"), very quick way of talking along😅 and sometimes the sudden jumps of information which makes it sometimes difficult to follow your else very great ideas. I hope this is not taken as offence. Perhaps it could help if you took some notes or structure your explanation before recording a voiceover? But I'm in no way a professional, so please take my wish with a grain of salt. Thank you again for the great inspiration.
