As always awesome work and creativity! I don't want to tell u your business but maybe u should leave the flat section extended out on the front fender like a dirt bike so u don't get mud in your face. I race quads and the most irritating thing is getting mud in my mouth from the front tires slinging forward and then I drive through it when I'm moving.

@philip4x4guy11 ай бұрын
I just have a lowly coleman minibike that i use for cheap easy transport around the ranch, trust me, you'll want mud flaps to keep you clean, ive mudflapped mine to the point i can ride the muddy driveway at full tilt with my flip flops on and not even get my feet wet, but it also keeps mud and swill of the engine and chain which makes maintenance so much nicer. I have a flexible rubber flap on the back of the front fender, front and rear of the rear fender, one that goes across under my foot pegs and a stainless sheetmetal guard between the chain and the tire, it took some fitting, but the chain would have to get deep enough to hit the mud for it to get dirty. Are you going to rig up some kind of two speed "gearbox"? Being able to go slow enough to not burn up the clutch can be beneficial
@DonnDIY11 ай бұрын
I'm probably moving in the same direction with the mud guards and flaps once I get to use it for some time. The bike has CVT so no gearbox needed.👍
@philip4x4guy11 ай бұрын
@DonnDIY I'm talking more of a hi range low range situation more than a shift on the fly transmission. I'm excited to see how you finish it out, I love the way you did the front wheel/hub!

Those plastic fenders are quite square compared to the rounded curve of the tires, I would have heated the corners and gradually bent the sides out to Match the fork angle or the tire contour.

Now it needs is one of those old iron tractor seats and footpegs made of a length of chain with the links welded together.
@BarnStangz11 ай бұрын
This is coming out excellent! It would be cool if you could plasma cut out your YT name and weld that in the middle of your bars. Cool build Donn I can't wait to see this thing sling ROOST!!! .....and who knows, maybe someday you'll swap an old 250 2stroke into this baby!
@DonnDIY11 ай бұрын
I'll try and keep this bike as a quick-get-around bike on the farm. I'll probably keep the performance mods close to none and work on other projects instead.👍
@BarnStangz11 ай бұрын
Yeah makes sense to keep it stock. This thing is going to be pretty fast with the Torq-A-Verter. When I was a kid I had a 5.5HP on my minibike with TAV and it would would want to flip you off if your were not careful. I can't wait to see this thing ripping! Hope you're staying warm Donn.@@DonnDIY

Most of the fat tire mini bikes have no suspension at all. The balloon tires acts as dampers. Mike Festiva featured mini bikes of such sort that he raced in the woods without problems.
